What about scent of a brisket on a woman?

The restaurant and the brewery were never one business and officially split ties a few months ago. Most of the regulars at the brewery dislike Tapped, so you shouldn't have a problem getting a table after the release.

The restaurant has a pretty meh taplist nowadays compared to when they first opened. They actually don't even have any Equilibrium on tap according to their beermenus.

Thanks. Yeah I noticed the beermenus list. Is there somewhere else to eat close by that anyone recommends? We’ll just be passing through so not necessarily looking to drink much.

I recommend Holy Dog. quick, delicious, and affordable lunch. a 3min walk from the brewery.

    spicy Girlfriend Treatment ftw

I'm still thinking about that 4oz of I Eat General Relativity For Breakfast I had at the Other Half tap takeover two weeks ago.

Holy Dog is great if you're looking for a quick bite. Other local quick bite suggestions that never get enough love:

    Cuchifrito
    https://m.yelp.com/biz/brunildas-cuchifrito-middletown

    Taco Factory
    https://www.thetacofactory.co

Both are within walking distance from the brewery. If you're looking for a sit down kind of place, there are definitely more options. For a less casual experience:

    Nina
    https://www.nina-restaurant.com

    And it's companion, The Bullroom
    https://www.thebullroomatnina.com

Also, if you don't mind a 15 min drive from the brewery, the owner of those two above also owns a tapas place that routinely has the best draught menu in the immediate area (usually has some EQ, for that matter):

    Craft 47
    https://www.craft47.com

Holy Dog is great, but it seems to be the only place anyone that frequents EQ suggests and there are other options.

Awesome 1st trip to EQ. Great people and bottle share. Got full allotment on the bottles and picked up some MC2, Shooks Ones and Harvester of Simcoe.

$2K was raised yesterday for the family of a young girl that is currently in the ICU at a Westchester hospital.
This was done with beer raffles, bottles donated by both EQ & their customers. It was more fulfilling than buying a Derby bet yesterday.

Got there about 11:15 and I think I was ticket 129. Out by 12:45. Took the advice ITT and walked over to Holy Dog while we were waiting. Thanks all for the recommendations!

Wow so these folks really are doing the right thing these days. 750s of the Saturday's release (2 btl limit) and 4-packs of pounders. If you're a sucker for punishment you can still torture yourself with crowlers but it's good customer service to make the other formats available to non-brisket eaters.

Evidently they're doubling down on doing what's right by limiting the upcoming weekend's limit on 750s to 4 per customer which is obviously enough for people who are buying the beer to drink it.

    Nice.

How exactly do these can releases work? Going camping not so far away this weekend and considering stopping by. You take a ticket and can actually go elsewhere while you wait? Curious to know if this will involve waiting outside in the rain for a long time.

I'm also bummed they don't serve pints anymore, but they do offer tastings?

Yes, just come back around 11-11:15 with the ticket and line up accordingly. Sales start at 11:30.

I personally just go around 12:30 and full allotments are usually still available.

There are tastings in line sometimes that EQ gives out.

Wait so do you get a ticket earlier in the morning prior to sales at 11:30 or is just showing up at 12:30 also an option? Also say we come later in the afternoon, can you buy samplers of beers on premise?

Yes, you can get a ticket prior to sales at 11:30. I believe they usually start handing them out at 7AM. Joining this group will get you more specifics - https://www.facebook.com/groups/1046531752151155/

I can't recall any of their beers the past 6-7 months selling out before 12:30. 12:30 is definitely an option. even Sexual Fluctuation - probably their most buzzed-about beer since it's a collab - lasted until 2-3 on day of release.

most people just wait in line to drink early and have a good time sharing bottles. no one is doing it to secure a full allotment, considering you can just go an hour after sales start and get that with no line.

as far as samples, idk regarding having samples while waiting on line. probably circumstantial. but I've seen some people come when there's no line and ask the employees for a sample or two before they buy, and EQ usually obliges.

but no, they don't have a taproom or any area that's designated for samplers or flights. that will come with the expansion this fall and beyond. when the expansion/taproom opens, they will serve samples, growlers, etc in addition to the crowlers and can/bottle sales they already have.

I am headed upstate today to Cornell, may decide to stop at Equilibrium. They posted last night there are 42 cases of Dhop6 left. What are the chances they will still have this at around 12pm and will there be a line?

    Thanks!

They posted to the fb group that they expect minimal wait for cans, so you're probably good.
