Dark Lord (2018)

That will be like me starting last year with Tweak at 8am and barely making it through Mastodon that night.

 

I took the first Jak’s shuttle last year and was in line on Progress Drive for a while before getting in. I think we got there a little after 9am. We definitely shared a few beers.

 

Ahh okay, I was part of the 2016 clusterfuck. The only positive was I got to drink a lot in line, downside was we probably were in line 2-3 hours to get into the festival. Really not what 3F wants when there is paid beer inside.

 

The threads too long to browse through all the comments and I haven’t actively participated much until I locked down tickets at the in-person sale last weekend but did the Dragon Abortion crew from last year start setting up the meet-up again? I assume we’re waiting for the map for locational purposes.

Also to refresh everyone’s memory I was the guy that had to lay down and take a disco nap in the middle of the group.

In my observations, Drie Fonteinen seems to provide a lot of input on Dark Lord Day.

 

2015 North Gate: Moved slowly and required ninja like skills to dodge and hop over the ponds of pooled mud water covering the gravel.
2016 South Gate: Moved slowly but kept moving. The line remained on pavement and wasn't affected by the rain.
2017 Main Entrance and Human Corral: Almost no line whatsoever until around 8:30am. Even then the line moved quickly. The group A "Special line" inside the corral was a joke as they opened the gates for everyone at nearly the same time. This resulted in most group A people getting in after many had already entered.

 

We should revisit last year's FFF vs 3F discussion.

Dark Lord Day will definitely be a lot different for me this year. I'm used to arriving bright and early, doing some legit morning drinking, and meeting new people before entering the festival. This year I'll be arriving mid-afternoon and mostly sober. It'll be interesting to see DLD from a different point of view.

Same here. Will be completely different experience. Always did line sharing in the morning and actually have never stayed past 5 or 6. Will be 'interesting' viewing from this perspective for sure.

 

I missed last year because we had a baby, so they went back to one entrance and just funnel group A to the bottle line? How did this staging area work? I have group A for the first time ever, but my friends have group B. Since there’s no more FCFS I was thinking about just going theough with them with group B, think that will be possible?

 

Yes. Group A can go with the Group B people.

Group A 9-11am / Group B 11am-1pm / Group C 1-3pm / Group D 3-5pm / Group E 5-7pm

If you miss your group time, you can pick up your bottles in a later group.
