I'd like to add Surly Brett Liquor to this list.

    Lucid Foto?

Favorite beer on the poll, Fury. But I'd call it an APA or American Red. It's got that similar malt flavor as many of my favorite reds. Fave beer I feel is a craft IPA, probably Saga!

Disclaimer: I've yet to try Size 7 or Masala Mama. :slight_frown:

Hundred Yard Dash, El Nino, and Stockyard. At least put up some IPAs and not a red.

well considering it has won medals as an IPA I think it can be put as an IPA, when Furious whens the red/amber medal, then it can be considered that.

Damnit. I just noticed I'm the sole vote for SCoV. Clearly, I meant to select Masala. I have been shamed.

Almost a impossible choice between Size 7, Masala and Furious.

Agree with that thought; all fantastic. I also like Hopdish a lot, any of those who haven't tried it should try it next time they come across. I understand this is new, but how does Northbound Smokehouse Big Jim IPA compare, they were out when I visted, unfortunately.

Big Jim IPA is on par with the likes of Masala Mama, Size 7, Furious, and Hopdish. It tasted to me a lot like a less malty version of Masala Mama.

I would like to do a side-by-side to really judge, but I loved the Sagas I had last week. Would love to get that on a regualr basis.

Interesting, I thought Big Jim was pretty malty. Did they tweak the recipe? I only had it on their opening night.

I really enjoyed Saga but I have to say Surly Furious is tops for me.

I have no idea if they tweaked the recipe. I only had one pint of Big Jim, and I had it after a pint of their porter so my pallet may have been a little bit off. The hops in the IPA may have stood out a bit more, because I had just a drank a nice malty porter. The one thing I'm sure of is that I will certainly go back for another pint of Big Jim in the very near future.

Size 7 is my favorite local IPA with Hop Dish and Saga coming close. What about El Nino or Superior Trail (no Fitger's love)?
I might argue that Furious is a better beer, but I have a hard time calling it an IPA.

I'm doing an 8 beer IPA blind shootout this weekend...spurred on by my bottled Hop Dish experience which was very good...had Saga right after it and the Saga did not hold up to Hop Dish(and I voted Saga in this poll)....we'll see what happens in the blind taster..included are Two-Hearted, ODell, Ranger, Torpedo, Magic Hat Columbus dry Hop, Saga, Hop Dish, Big Sky and Pyramid Outburst (DIPA but drinks more like a regular IPA)...
