Dark Lord (2018)

My 1st DLD also. Not sure how they are going to check the ounce limit. It says it must fit in a backpack.. so I am thinking as long as it fits in a backpack I am good. Just to CYA for them and to reduce from the huge limits in previous years.

That said I am thinking on bringing The Truffle, BAMC, and Creature Comforts/Fonta Flora mix cultured goodies. Maybe some Casey.

Planning out bottles, lol. Nerds.

 

My first DLD as well, good to know there will be so many other first timers that highly underestimate how fucked up they'll be by noon and there's still 9 hours on the grounds after that.

I've got some black tuesday, cbs, bcb stout and bcb barleywine, one or two other neat things I'll bring. Anyone showing up with central waters black gold and/or TG SR71 that wants to be friends?

Thinking about bringing a BA IGCCS and DL Aquavit as well, but that's on the off chance I'm feeling stupid silly the night before.

are we allowed to bring in corkscrews to open Loons? i'd hate to get stabbed by a corkscrew.

 

Yea I think everyone in here can proudly say they are a beer nerd too... I know I am at least.

 

Yeah. I brought a Cantillon last year and opened it with a corkscrew that I brought.

... well, actually I didn't open it myself. One of my friends did because I couldn't work the corkscrew by that point and I kept butchering the cork.

 

But I’m proud to be a beer nerd, dammit!

 

Yeah that shouldn't be a problem. I always bring a travel corkscrew for myself and others who forgot - it's not as nice as a server corkscrew, but it doesn't look like a knife, so I have no worries about an overenthusiastic security guard confiscating it.

I heard Coming Soon is supposed to be an amazing variant.

 

i was thinking of bringing one that has the little "knife" on the bottom to cut wax in addition to the ability to remove corks. i guess i can just stick it in my pocket or jam it down in the bottom of my bag.

Let's hope things don't go down that route at DLD.
