So is Blue a narcbeard or a neckbeard? I always knew he was up to no good.

You learn something new every day. I would argue that it's obscure enough that it's still an odd choice.

Anyone know what bourbon barrels Henna aged in (Woodford, Buffalo Trace, etc) and how long they were in there?

Here’s an idea for the release:
It’s sounding like the line is gonna be stupid long and lots of folks are gonna get shut out for bottles. So move the line along for bottles until they run out, at that point open the doors to the brewpub and the line is now to get in for pours.

I don't think that is how it's going to go. I think if you're there by 7 (and probably later IMO), you'll definitely get a bottle. Granted, that sounds a bit nuts to have to be there a few hours early for a bottle, but I think that's pretty much what to expect at this point.

I suppose you could say a lot of people will get shut out because there are a lot of people that want the bottle, but can't take off work or be in town to get it, but that's the case with any limited release.

Based on MoRe’s response to the “no lining up before 7am” post, it’s a city ordinance and the city CAN (but may not) enforce it. I think folks are gonna be there plenty earlier than 7. And from some of the responses, there’s gonna be a metric f**kton of people there.

Can we start spreading pre-infection rumors to decrease hype and line size?

    Thanks,

If 1,000 people are there by 7, I will be surprised. I have no doubt people will be there before 7, on the off chance the city doesn't mind the lining up. It'll be interesting to see if that ordinance is enforced for the release.

I'm beating a dead horse, but I maintain that I believe the probability of there being more than 750 bottles is low given the comment about 500. Could it have been completely offhand, sure, but that's an oddly specific number if you know how many you have. (Unless you want to create hype. But I already noted that I think that's evil).

I'd wager money there's at least 500 people in line at 7am.

By comparison, over 300 in line for Henna's by 6am. -And, people locally in central Indiana started lining up at 11pm for a BC allotment on black friday consisting of 1 Coffee, 1 Northwoods, 2 BW, and 4 Regular. By 6am I was around 250th. (I think - if someone goes back and proves that I said something lower, my mistake).

And, Chicago + DLD neckbeards > Indiana Neckbeards.

Quick question. If someone gets a 24' truck, a bunch of sleeping bags, and an overnight parking permit in VP, how much could they charge per head to stay in a "rolling flophouse" for this release? Asking for a friend.

what was the precise comment about the 500 bottles that they made? or better yet, what was the exact exchange? because I seem to recall them making a comment, but the 500 number was completely arbitrary and mentioned merely to make a different point.

It was. People are reading way more into it than they need to. My money is on at least 1k per day. People getting shut out just creates angry customers. I don't think they are doing this release the best way possible but they know how many tickets are out there for each day. They aren't going to create this much hype and then only have 3 or 400 bottles. If 800ppl show up and only 50% get bottles the negative will out way the positive hype.

What are the odds of getting a pour if I get there around noon on Friday? I have to work in the morning and assume bottles will be gone by then.

No one knows to be honest. If previous ones were anything to go by 0%, but we really have no idea how much was bottled this go around.
