May is much better? It was 80 and sunny yesterday. now it's gonna thunderstorm all day likely. Has Dark Lord day improved much since last time I went when it was muddy and completely ruined my shoes? They honestly should get Munster to let em host it at the Park across the street.

    You must be new here.

Plus, I don't believe in Stout season. God what a terrible concept! No one in the Dark Lord's thread should believe in Stout "season."

    Stout all day err day!

Wait, so you were down with 15 straight hours of rain and 35-40* weather? Hey man more power to you, no one's stopping you from drinking a DL while listening to Pearl Jam miserably lying in the gutter. Just make sure to post a selfie.

I believe in drinking 15% beers between Halloween and Easter. After that not really. I guess I could put one aside. May is more Zombie Dust weather. Three Floyds should really do a Zombie Dust day on Halloween though. People can dress up like Zombies and they could put Shaun of the Dead on a projector

What you got against Pearl Jam? They're my favorite Metal Band.

Stout season is actually a thing to people? I agree with Sabtos, F the weather, drink the beers you want when you want. It's like when people react funny when I tell them I drink iced coffee in the dead of winter.. "You do?! But it's sooooo cold!" "It's not cold IN MY building where I'm drinking it... or IN MY house." Idiots.. haha

    No offense to you, SPORTS

Considering all the best hoppy ales for some crazy reason start coming out in Fall and Winter, not to mention hop harvest is also in Fall, I've never been able to restrict my hops to warm weather. There's way too many darn good brews that only see release once a year in the dead of Winter.

Drinking a single high ABV beer instead of 3-4 lighter ales is fine for me, it just depends on the time of day. A cool evening by a campfire, or a strong coffee brew midday so I'm not buzzing all night. Living by Hoppin Frog has also conditioned me, considering they have high ABV brews on draft all year long and it's very difficult to resist stopping in, especially when they drop new stuff or throw their beers into infusion towers.

    Ah shit!

Oh it's not a season particularly it's mizt when I'm hot and sweaty I want a daisy cutter or zombie dust. When it looks like rain I navigate to darker sfuff

got a little web scraper that's gonna email me as soon as the "coming soon" changes :grimacing:

Stout season is when I restock my cellar with stouts..never applies to when I'm willing to drink them.

Late to the party, but pumped to be going again for the first time since 2015. Is there a trading spreadsheet or is that all done via the forum these days?

I was also wondering about a trading spreadsheet. With less carry-in beer most trades will happen at hotels.

Personally I don’t need to run all over the event, lugging beer, trying to find people like I did in 2016...although it made for good shares!

Been trying to narrow down a list of beers to bring for Friday night and Saturday, I think that between evening drinking and slightly skirting the ounce limit I'll be okay with this.

    Perennial - Sump
    Perennial - Prodigal
    De Garde - Peach Houblon
    Upland - Pawpaw
    Rare Barrel - Hyper Paradise
    Deviate - BA Waffle Horse
Trillium - The Streets, DDH Fort Point
    Pliny the Elder
Hopefully a local growler to share on Friday.

I tried to do IP trades at the festival my first year. Didn’t complete a single one! Last year I did them all at the hotel and that worked out much better. I just used the IP forum here on BA.

I think Dark Lord started out as a winter beer, I think it first came out in December or January. Then it was released in March, then April, and now May mostly just so there is nice weather for the festival.
