Been a long time since I had a Singlecut beer, but tried Push Push Struggle last night on tap and was very impressed. Reminded me of early batches of SSMS--huge grapefruit/peach candy flavors with a little dank/herbal/veg undertone. Not nearly as resinous / tongue-scraping as I remembered in their DIPAs being. It wasn't quite as hefty as some of the oat cream stuff coming out of Gowanus, but it's right there in terms of aromatic and flavor intensity.

In CT, Singlecut might by the best brewery I can get at a package store on a fairly consistent basis. It's a few bucks more than others but the majority of the releases have been worth it imo.

Bon Bon 2XDH IIPA is one of the best beers in the city, so I can't not get it.

Had this over the weekend and agree... best singlecut I've had in a while, if not ever.

That's what I love about you. You're as steady and as solid as a rock.
    I begrudgingly agree.

I'm well aware of the hypocrisy, but I'm glad I'm loved for it, all the same.

I will be anxiously awaiting your review... I agree that the last (first?) batch was crazy good, but I've been burned by Singlecut's inconsistency one too many times to commit to a trip up to Queens...

Mmm it's either a bit green, or simply not as good as the last batch (which I'm pretty sure was the first). There's also a noticeable astringency that lingers. Otherwise, it's pretty good, but definitely not on the same level as the last batch. The last batch, I initially bought only one can from a nearby store, and immediately realized I needed more cans.

The most bittersweet notification I've ever received.... Thank you for simultaneously disappointing me and saving me $20+ and a 60-minute bike ride. Sounds like we had the same experience with the last batch. Was really hoping DDH Bon Bon wouldn't go the way of SSMS, but I guess I'll just have to embody the self-loathing "first-batch-best-batch" guy yet again... :pensive:

Yeah between this and Just Salad announcing that they will no longer chop their salad, it's been a miserable day.

Guys are we talking about second tier salad places because we’re in the singlecut thread?

Looks like they dropped the price of 18-Watt to $13 at the taproom, and are also selling them at a bunch of Wegmans for the same price. Does anyone remember how much it was before?

Pretty cool move. Hopefully this expands to other SingleCut beers.

That's absolutely fantastic and a rock solid beer. Best deal in town. I hope my local shop keeps it low.

That is pretty awesome news. I’ve seen 18-Watt cans a bunch of times and always passed because they were $20 a four pack. Hopefully the next batch that they can makes it to NJ

I'm glad they're looking at their pricing... But my understanding based on their comments on the IG thread are that it will be $14 at the brewery. They also mentioned it may be more expensive in NYC and that they "don't like undercutting their neighbors."

As someone who lives 10 minutes away and has been supporting them from the jump and been patient through the various quality control issues, to be paying even slightly more at the brewery seems backwards. And for a brewery that has in the past taken a vocal stance about their NYC roots, to be offering favored pricing at supermarkets it the suburbs and NJ and PA seems a little off-message to me...

That's pretty wild. I understand their point about not wanting to undercut NYC shops, but never have I seen SingleCut cans in NYC for anywhere close to the price of their taproom. In reality they're consistently undercutting everyone.

Seems like a poor excuse to squeeze an extra dollar out of people who come to the taproom.
