Don't get me wrong, I enjoy plenty of "pure" beer. I also enjoy something different once in a while. There's no wrong answer to what your dream beer is. Or apparently there is according to some on this thread...

I'm still hoping for a dark weizenbock from Andechs someday.

It might end up being a disaster, but I've always been fascinated by the idea of an acai lambic.

Rhubarb is used in many bitter Italian apertivos. I have a smoked one at home that I am particularly fond of, so I'll take that variation of your beer .

Either that or an original London Porter aged with brett and about 7% abv.

As good as the Meantime version is, it's still not the same.

A very long time ago I spent 4 days in the Boundary Waters canoing and camping. During my stay there was a big storm and the portages on the way out were filled with downed trees and it was hot and sticky and not fun climbing trees with a canoe. We got back to the entry point. The car next to ours was underneath a fallen tree. Our battery was dead. In the back of our van we had a cooler filled with ice and beer and the beer was still ice cold. I believe it was Summit Extra Pale Ale. We dragged to cooler out to the road, sat in the shade, drank ice cold beer and waited for a car to come by and give us a jump. About 2 hours later a car showed up. The driver gave us a jump and helped us finish off the cooler. Under the circumstances, it was the best beer I will ever drink.

I didn't know they already did it. I feel lucky when I go to the Mill House and they have Panda-monium. Unless I call ahead there's no way of knowing what's on tap. Here's hoping they do it again and I find out. Cool to know they just might.

Actually, I'd pay for a collaboration between those two breweries IF they did an imperial stout that wasn't barrel aged and didn't have any spices in it.

Man, I repeat myself every.time.there's.a.thread.like.this but Half Acre SPACE IPA is my "ideal beer." Nothing has yet eclipsed it for me in terms of malt/hop balance, bite, weight, ABV, and overall taste. Good day to you all.

This post reminds me that I love to go to Chicago and drink beers from Half Acre.

    That is all.

I would take it with or without the spice however I agree it never needs to see the inside of a barrel.
