I will go on the record and say that I had my first BCBS in October 2011 (2010 vintage) as well and the first time I tried it I thought it was way too sweet and bourbony. Now after I have crushed my pallate over the past year with all sorts of barrel-aged goodies, I would pour the stuff on my cereal and shower in it.

so someone gifted your parents, who only drink budweiser, a four pack + 1 extra BCBS in 2007?

Are you questioning the fact that this happened? Seems like it.

Anyways I imagine there were 2 4-packs. I imagine they each tried one.

Also found a few of these down there from '08. Cant imagine these being any good aged (but what do I know). Scared to try that, lots of sediment at bottom. Thoughts?

The bourbon test here in my eyes isn't to determine if he likes bourbon/ba beer, but more as a confirmation of the properties of bourbon. Since he seems unable to adequately describe why he disliked the beer I feel the first step is to determine if it is because of the bourbon or because of a quality issue with the bottles.

But yes, even if he tries some bourbon and decides he hates it, it certainly doesn't mean he'll hate all barrel-aged beer.

    Because Budweiser owns it?

Huh. Never heard of it before, but the style ought to be age-able under the right circumstances. The sediment is fine as long as it is settled on the bottom and not hanging around in suspension (and even so it shouldn't hurt you to drink it). I say try it! Only one way to find out...

How warm could it possibly get in a basement?

I'd say, if anything, it's oxidized.
