Meh, we all have our preferences. One of the best pilsners I've had in a while was Amen, Brother from Monkish which was a citra hopped pils. That's where my preferences lie

yeah, if you are only looking for fruity American hops you probably are going to be disappointed in any traditional German or Czech style Pilsner and their more earthy, spicy, and floral noble hops.

Sly Fox and Stoudt don't list specific varieties, but I would assume similar to Victory (they list Hallertau, Tettnang, Saaz, and Spalt for Prima Pils). None of those hops are going to be confused for Citra.

Maybe I'll give Prima another go today and see if I can find fresh cans at the distributor down the street from the office.

Blasphemy, sorry but prima is one of the best pils there is if you ask me and a lot of other people for that matte. It is preference though but to say it’s awful is pretty brutal. Also I didn’t check but I’m sure other reacted the same way above. Good beers don’t have to be sticker cans.

You couldn't give me enough Suaraz - Palatine Pils if you tried.

Yes, if you find yourself in the Hudson Valley and want to drink some sub-5.0% abv beers, you can't go wrong with them. Good lagers - their Bones Shirt black lager was my favorite across a couple of visits.

That's a pilsner in name only. There's citrus all over that beer. It would do better in a pale ale category. There's a reason for style categories.

Tired Hands will be Pouring in New Orleans Tomorrow, looks like a one off event, and the owners run in the same crowd as Monk's so I wonder if that is the connection? 5/12-5/13-Tired Hands Midnight Mass ( 10 taps) with a Ramos Gin Fizz bar upstairs.

Typically, yes. With the exception of a milkshake, which likely has a separate release through the General Store next door. Crowlers range between $13 - $20 depending on the style.

Still 80 cases of Lush Life available today, which is nuts. It's basically a triple milkshake. I guess if you don't call it milkshake nobody wants it?

Price + having released a month or two ago.

How much much are crowlers of Saisonhands at the cafe? Might stop in and grab a few crowlers of that and Ourison for the weekend.

Cracked a Lush Life today. Fantastic beer. They've really dialed in their triples - lots of body (here the oats and lactose help a lot), but not too sweet. You want some booze in a 10% beer, and you get it here but just a little. Not too sweet despite the hefty body, which is what I think differentiates this from earlier triples they made - those beers tended to be cloying. This is just smooth.

Astringent burn would be the perfect descriptor.

damn can't even hype the recent cans because of obvious flaws. not that it concerns me but poor form for $25 4 packs.
