Probably wasn't up to the Bourbon County brand standards. Complete guess though

Scotch is too divisive and I think if that was the only variant some people got they might have been off put by bourbon county. Better to release it as its own, no harm no foul.

Or maybe they figured the legal team suggested they not put other barrels in the Bourbon County line in order not to confuse people? May explain why the wine and scotch treatments didn't get BCBS nomenclature.

    Scotch barrel aged bourbon county.

60% of the time it's aged all the time.

I spoke to a Goose Employee who said that it just was not good, and they decided not to release it.

I had it on tap at the Naperville Winter Ale fest and it was very good. The 16 BCBSC, not so much.

I had a bottle in the fall and thought it tasted like a great regular aged bourbon county. 2014 is tops of Prop for me.

Fresh I’d say 2013 blew it away

'13 Prop lasted approximately 50 minutes, crazy. Apparently they had two kegs of it. '17 bottles of Prop ($60) were available as well as '17 Prop on tap at 7:00. Not sure how long that lasted, but it was still flowing at 7:30 when I left.

Yeah, it was unreal how long it lasted. I was actually disappointed it was still on because I wanted to have a pour of Prop 17 before leaving. That just meant I had another Prop 13...and then got a Prop 17. This was a beer I’ve wanted to try for so long, and it was great to finally have it (and 3 pours of it, at that).

It sounds like Wednesday won’t be quite as chill based on my conversation with someone there.

I am at least as glad that you got to try it as I am jealous that you got to try it.

    Nothing like trying a want!

Really good, as expected. The coconut was more of an afterthought - not a lot of it there, which isn’t surprising for something four and a half years old. Still a good deal of heat from the bourbon, which is the typical BCBS profile that I love (I actually had a regular BCBS 2013 the night before and a very similar bourbon presence was there). A treat to have for the first (and most likely last) time. I would’ve loved to have tried it a few years ago.

Nothing close to how good it was fresh. It tastes like a more silky version of regular BCBS. I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

This is how all my Prop 13 bottles were that "fell off," and why I didn't make an effort to go and try this. Fresh Prop '13 is probably still my favorite beer all-time, but when the coconut dies (which subtle to begin with, imo), it's just a slightly better version of BCBS, at least to my palate.

Anyone know if Prop '17 lasted until close/might still be available today?
