Iowa Rumors?

    Just wondering what, if any rumors are out there re: Iowa?

    I've heard Deschutes might be coming soon-ish, and that there's ANOTHER brewery coming to Ankeny and maybe Perry also. Anyone have anything else?

    There was a Lagunitas rumor floating around a while ago, but it's been a long time since I've heard any whisperings about that...

    Lagunitas should be happening, but, not until the Chicago brewery is built.

    Deschutes is a recent rumor I've heard floating around but haven't heard anything more lately.

    The Lagunitas rumor has been all over the place: first they were just looking then they were confirmed then they pulled out for unknown reasons and not it seems all but dead. I've heard complaints Lagunitas has had some issues in some other states so I don't know what to make of any of it.

    Other breweries that I've seen/heard rumors about include: Great Divide, Two Brothers, Terrapin, and Dogfish Head but I can't say they've been more than just conjecture/wishes. I've also heard rumblings about Schlafly possibly distributing to the whole state.

    Needless to say in the past year Iowa's distribution has steadily improved with the additions of Founders, Stone, Green Flash and even lesser named breweries like: Tallgrass and Mendocino (I'm sure theres been more too).
    Hopefully more will come soon though!

    Word on the street is a major limited release beer will be in Iowa come the end of November.

    Deschutes just announced Chicago, so Iowa wouldn't seem completely unreasonable to fill in their footprint.
