I got a bottle of Deth Star a year or two ago.

Oh shit, I forgot about Bell's as well. Stores are going to have to buy extra fridges.

I think this was the second week in a row I was at the store and had a hard time finding something I wanted. Which is amazing considering the crowded shelves.

Kind of refreshing though, because I can just go with old stand-bys like Notch Pils.

Same with me - I just stare at all the myriad 4-packs of IPA’s then just go grab a 12 of Sierra Nevada (the current Party Pack is great & the Summerfest is f’ing amazing this year).

Agree, I went through that 12 pack of summerfest faster then I would like to admit. Tasted like fucking magic was the first thing that came into my head when I drank it.

Sierra Nevada 12-packs ,including Party pack with the outstanding Kolsch, on sale for $12.99 this week @ Market Basket. The Summerfest is tasting great too IMO. NH only for this, no bottle deposit too (live free or die MFers)

NH might have not-so-great distribution, but beer at MB is a pretty sweet consolation prize. We already avoid buying certain things at other stores until we make our semi-weekly Basket trip, so our local beer shops will definitely suffer if and when the Boston area baskets start selling beer.

Yes, the Summerfest is outstanding this year.

Oh Market Basket, I remember you...I stopped shopping there a couple years ago. Converted to Star Market in Porter Square. It was a combination of Market Basket not having everything I wanted and the fact that the Somerville Market Basket is hell on earth.

Ha! As much as I love the basket I'd give up on it if Somerville were my only option as well (we're thankfully just as close to Burlington).

Although I can't say that damn Porter square parking lot is any picnic either. Grocery shopping is the one thing that makes me happy to keep one foot in the 'burbs. Give me an oversized store with ample parking anyday

I can go to the Woburn one as well. Regardless, shopping at Star Market is so relaxing and easy...and better deli meat. Don't think I could go back to Market Basket.

The parking actually isn't terrible except for the weekend...it could be that I could at 3:30/4 pm on a weekday though.

Or I could get my groceries delivered...always wanted to try that.

    Single cut news.

We’re honored to be partnering with the legendary Wegmans for their THE FRESHEST program, an initiative to get fresh hoppy beer into your hands at incredbile speed. Starting this Friday, May 18th, stores in NYS and select shops in PA and MA will have stacks of 18-WATT IPA available for you, less than 5 days old, and at the amazing new price of $12.99 (seriously!). How’d we get that crazy new price? Well we’ve got some big news for you coming next week…

Formaggio Kitchen (Huron Village) had ~10 bottles of Pirate Bomb out ($12.95/each, I think?)

Haven’t seen it anywhere else yet, though I’m sure if they have it it’ll be showing up (& probably cheaper).

I read this and thought, "What they really need is a 'THE CHEAPEST' program."

    Then I read this!

Very cool. I'm a big fan of their hoppy stuff but avoided repeat purchases because of the price.

Picked up a four pack of Bitburger Pils on account of the praise you all been giving it.

The good? Great taste at an excellent price. Big thanks to the collective BA for the recommendation. Haven’t picked up an import pils in a while. Canned in January 2018 which is the freshest I’ve seen it to date.

The bad? Notch Pils was sitting almost right next to it with the same canned date. Sad.

I think that Bitburger drop was from a few months ago. I remember grabbing very fresh Bitburger after I had returned from Germany at the beginning of February. While the cans were very good, they paled in comparison to having it fresh on tap in Germany.

Most notable was how hoppy the Bitburger is over there. It made me wonder how good some of my other favorite imports can be fresh from the source (Weihenstephan, Schlenkerla...etc.).

I have some cans dated 2/15/18 in my fridge right now. Unfortunately this beer can sometimes sit for awhile at our local stores. When I see it <3 months old I'll usually grab a six pack. Great beer to have sitting in your fridge since it's tasty and only 4% ABV. One of the few beers I still grab a full six pack of these days.

I'm starting to see Fiddlehead Second Fiddle all over the place, and it's awesome. I see it regularly at Bacon's in Hudson and I've seen it a couple times at Yankee Spirits in Swansea. I asked the guy at Bacon's in Hudson when it first showed up if they'll be getting it with any regularity and he said "whenever we can but it's rare".. guess they upped production because it's getting shipped every week or two in larger amounts. Yesterday they had 3 cases with 4/30 dates on it.

I've probably bought a 4pk 4-5 times now. Might be my favorite IPA of 2018. I will say there's generally a fair amount of sediment at the bottom and I cut off the pour when I start to see it. Not sure the hop profile on this one but if I had to guess there's some Mosaic. Definitely on the danker and pinier side of things.

On a sort of related note: the other craft beer I've bought a bunch of this year, Mystic Table Beer, I haven't seen in a couple months :slight_frown:

Finally got to drinking the Peruvian Morning. Really solid. Warm, fresh coffee throughout. Have still seen some around, going to get more.
