Saudi Arabia is probably the worst scene in the world

In the United States I would argue for my home state of West Virginia. We're about 30 years behind the United States in everything to begin with, and craft beer is no exception.

Thankfully I can drive 2 minutes across the river to the Buckeye State for an amazing selection

Why the fuck were you expecting a good "beer scene" in the Middle East?

Barrage brewing in Farmingdale, NY. I would rather drink n/A stuff than that crap.

For a place as close to the U.S. craft beer scene, it remains an astonishing government stalag of oppression re: alcohol.
Islands of craft brewing have been sprouting up in select jurisdictions, but the quality is generally very low. The meager offerings have been well received.....as any starving man would a bone.
There just isn't a large 'supply' of technically competent or advanced brewers there.
Plus consumers are not discerning of really good beer....decades of solely straw colored, 5%abv corporate swill will do that.

Don't know where in Canadia you were drinking, but there's plenty of very good-to-great breweries in B.C. Central City and Brassneck are a couple my personal favorites from just over the border.

Rather than the worst beer scene how about "Beer Scene Most In Need Of Improvement." Gotta think positive, people!

I recently went to New Orleans and was surprised by how difficult it was to find beer culture. While there are definitely some breweries and brewpubs in Louisana, there just wasn't much of a scene. That said, I'd loved to get back to NOLA Brewing and next time I'm in New Orleans I'll be sure to check out Port Orleans Brewery!

LOL, you really think they're that bad? I like some of their stuff. Not amazing, but pretty good.

It's not easy to find a good beer in New Orleans. Bud products are everywhere. We finally found one good microbrew bar on Bourbon Street called Beerfest. Also strangely enough the WW2 museum in New Orleans had a bar with a decent selection.

I was just in Montreal a few weeks ago. There were about 10 breweries within 5 miles of me, and although I wasn't blown away by any, some had some pretty solid stuff.

Next time you visit Amman or Jordan rather. Try out Carakale, Jordan's first and only craft brewery. Cheers

I'm pretty sure a Dakota metroplex is somewhere you can see your neighbors in both directions?

Having visited the excellent Tucherhof on the edge of Nurenburg a couple of years ago, the only downside to the place really was the rather dismal beer. I mean, maybe it was the nice weather, the big long Bavarian style table overlooking an extensive kids play area and the knowledge we were only maybe an hour from Bamberg that got my expectations up, but I don't see Tucher ever winning awards from any German brewing organisation...

I think maybe the worst beer scene on earth was the steakhouse in central IL where I had dinner last night. Beers on tap were Coors, Miller, Bud, and Bud Light. I asked the waitress what they had in bottles, and she said, "It's a long list. What do you want?" (Pet Peeve -- I've been asked that many times, and it assumes that you know what you want without knowing what they have. For all I know, you could have a great local beer I've never even heard of. I want to know what you have so I can select what I want. Would they refuse to show you a food menu and instead ask "What do you want" by way of a meal? Anyway, I digress . . .)

I tried to make things easy, so I said "an IPA." She said, "We get a lot of requests for that. We have a Mirror Pond Pale Ale and a Butte Porter." (Apparently, she equates IPA with craft beer and the only craft beer they have is Deschutes.) I said, "I'll take the Mirror Pond." She asks, "the Pale Ale or the Porter?" LOL. At least I enjoyed my Mirror Pond.

Was at McMurdo many years ago. IIRC, they had things like Sam Adams and some half-way mediocre New Zealand brews.

Most of the odd and exotic S, E, and SE Asian places I've been have one brewery, usually built by Germans, that serves a lager that's good cold on a hot day, and cuts the bottled water.

Now living in a corner of Italy that has mostly been bypassed by the Italian micro revolution, so I find that a bit troubling, but the local army PX carries a couple of Stone and Rogue varieties, so I usually get by. That and road trips over the Alps and to better served portions of Italy.

I was in Key West for about 10 days last month. Waterfront Brewery didn't upset me at all. Don't know if they distribute, but their stuff was pretty solid.
