Over 100 cases of Grovestand sold today. Would guess it's questionable for Saturday.

Yep. Definitely wonder why they had a case limit on it but I guess with all those cans available storage space is an issue.

They should be paying people to take that chocolate orange starfish

Thoughts on how Grovestand changes over time? I've heard some comments to the effect that it really opens up at around the one month mark. I didn't get to try any of batch 1, so I can't comment, but I'm feeling a bit skeptical, especially since I typically like (non-Johann) Aslin hops best at around 2 weeks and think they start falling off after 3.

Just avoid release days at open and there shouldn't be any lines.

I guess another good question to ask would be what is a good day and time to drive there from DC

Had one last night and thought it wasn't as good as when fresh. This was from the mid April batch.

Didn't get to try Grovestand but I did an A-B comparison of the last 2 batches of Triple Orange Starfish (which I believe were about 2 months apart) and noticed very little difference. The fresher batch was slightly better but if I didn't have them side by side I don't think I would have noticed a difference. I've always thought the (non-Johann) Aslin hops hold up better than most guys that are doing the hyper fresh dry hopping.

    Sunday at 3am?

(Even then you'll probably see some gridlock...)

Also depends somewhat on where you're staying in DC, but I'd say 24th/25th leave around 7. Rush hour will have somewhat subsided and you should make it before close. If you can swing it Sunday would likely be the best day traffic-wise. Time shouldn't matter too much then.

My strategy will likely be Saturday afternoon when my two year old is napping or either Thursday or Friday close to closing time

Logistically, that’s what makes the most sense with a wife and three kids...I’ll probably try to drag my five year old along

    Staying in Stronghold...northeast DC

Well in that case don't waste 3 hours of an afternoon and I don't know take your kids to a Smithsonian for christs sake.

I think I'm coming to the same conclusion. I've been spacing my cans out at one per week, and I'm noticing the robust orange flavor is starting to diminish in relation to the creamy lactose presence. I feel like it struck a better balance a bit fresher. Still have two cans to go, so we'll see whether the kick from the milk sugar can salvage the last fortnight of the experiment.

What`s up with only releasing 35 cases of Raging Rabbit? That seems like a super small batch to even mess with canning. Not even looking good for Vapid making it to tomorrow.

Totally agree. If it's that small of a batch, maybe would make sense to limit to 1 or 2 four packs pp, and not 3? That's usually my biggest gripe - forcing people into that line scene. No thanks. I missed out on the Progeny yesterday...and the Neutrino.

That beer sounds like a first class ticket to Diabetes Town.

Who's forcing people to be in a line? It seems like the smaller you make the limit, the longer the line will be, since more people get the beer.
