Dark Lord (2018)

Yeah, what are some good distilled beers? The ones I've had range from mediocre to god awful so I wouldn't be too excited about a distilled DL.

 

Wait...what are any distilled beers? Utopias doesn't count, does it?

As soon as I tasted it, it reminded me of madeira. I did enjoy the wine variants. It would be interesting to see FFF take a page out of the scotch book and do some double barrel finishes. It's pretty common in that industry to mature scotch in a an oloroso/amontillado casks and then further age in American oak/bourbon barrels.

 

Nope, not Utopia, or even the frozen beers.

They literally take the beer and distill it. I've had a few at Distill America (spirits festival in Madison). I know Vintage Brewing makes a couple with I believe Yahara Bay. Most real small batch stuff that I haven't seen on the shelf (not that I've been looking for it). Hoppy beers get real unpleasant when they're distilled IMO but that's mainly what I've tried.

Edit: Found one, Woodshed Whiskey brewed by Vintage and distilled by Yahara. It's been a number of years since I had it but I thought it was awful.

Who's going to Dark Lord Day 2019?

 

I'm not going to say 2018 was a step back, but the Dark Lord didn't even show up this year.

 

Without a doubt. I just hope that Beezy girl can go to provide more entertainment.

That Facebook group cleaned house of all those amazing videos and photos. That was probably the best way to wake up after DLD.

 

But someone has to have the photos or videos for the darklordday wiki, right? It's a time capsule for future generations.

 

I don't know about you but I smelled banhammers and disappeared posts from a mile away. Had that Save As and screenshot game on point!

They really should have more disclaimers regarding the side effects of dark lord.

For example, I never knew it caused anal leakage....or wait maybe that was the vegan corn dog??

 

Had one as my first pour and shared it as well. I thought it was really good. That stuff can probably hold boats together like Flex Seal, its sticky as fock.
