Yeah I just got a drink and am leaving. Not standing in pouring rain for 45 minutes.

I'm surprised it's so crazy. I guess new wax sealed bottle brought out some people?

Glad I had a 1 person wait last week for Mosaic Punch and third reef .

That's a good question. I saw quite a few people just getting a 4pk of each, the mead, and 2-4 of the other. Also saw people with a case of each and no bottles.

Cue the whining by all the people that think they are entitled to something and don't like the way this was done.

Also I am very very disappointed in not being able to get the Old Ale. I think that a barrel aged Old Ale is something Kane will completely knock out of the park. And I generally love the style.

Did the Bourbon Barrel sell out?
i figured the mead version would go quick because it was 1 per thaere couldn't have been alot of it.
I don't see much whining on instagram. Is there a lot on Facebook?

I don't use the facebook. But I'm surprised the usual complaints haven't been logged here. Did bourbon make it through sunday?

also don't use facebook so not sure..

I got there around noon and was shocked by the line already.. with having one pay station it seemed they didn't assume such a demand for this one..

anyone crack open any of cans or old ale yet???

i am waiting until the nicer weather this weekend personally

Haven't cracked anything but the reviews on both cans are pretty good, I did see 1 or 2 people say Mandarina might be a bit green. It seems like the Bourbon Barrel bottle was available through Sunday. Boggles my mind that I showed up to a semi long line right around 12/1230, when I strolled in at 1pm last week and there was no on there buying Mosaic Punch (arguably the best IPA they have made IMO). Mosaic made it through to Sunday, Mandarina sold out by 215.

Maybe the early post and shitty weather let people plan on going there instead of already being elsewhere? Clearly the line wasn't for the bottles since BBA made it through the day, Mead obviously was a super low yield at 1PP. Weird, but I got a little bit of everything so I can't complain. It's crazy though we had people walking up to us asking to buy Mandarina Punch from us while we were having a few beers after it sold out.

interesting take @fdonnelly, and I agree.. i think the weather and early notice helped. the taproom was packed with families just looking to get their kids out of the house i think too.. the Taplist has been INSANE lately.. love strolling up to that variety..and Mosaic Punch on draft is crazy good!
hopefully with this weather we keep seeing punch combos coming out..

anyone havce any idea on when they plan to release some mixed ferm beers?

I know from their insta post they had a grisette brewed first? hopefully we see some stuff soon. I actually liking Mosaic out of the can better right now, was getting some bitter note on the draft I had of it that I didnt get from the cans I had, personally at least.

List of Punches I must have:
    1) Galaxy
    2) Wai'iti
    3) Citra

I had an event to be at by 1:30 Saturday, so once I saw the announcement I figured the only way I could get this and get home in time was to be there early. Arrived slightly before 11:30am not sure what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised to only see a few people hanging in the doorway area, and only a handful of cars (probably 7-10?). Decided to wait in my car as most other people were doing. Got to a little after 11:40 and the parking lot pretty much filled up in 30 seconds, and people started getting out of their cars. Lot was full and street parking started filling up by noon (and the downpour made it more fun as the street flooded too). They definitely didnt expect this craziness as they didnt open the doors until a few mins after noon.. and were checking IDs at the door which stunk...

Still when I left (i was probably 40 people deep in the original line), the line was only to the bottom of the stairs.. but I guess business picked up after that quickly. Would say about 1/2 the people in the initial line were grabbing both kinds of bottles. Everybody of course got the LIMITED bottle, but not necessarily both. Most were loading up 100% on the punch and aloha shirt.. (I only got a 4 of each..)

Cracked open the Picture in Reverse (Bourbon Barrel) over the weekend and it was phenomenal! Had an Aloha Shirt yesterday as well which was also very good, the coconut/pineapple really came out as it warmed.

Waiting to open the Punch as people are saying it's too green.

People got excited because the Aloha Shirt can was quite good looking. It was a cosmetic purchase more than an imbibing purchase.

10% golden ale packaged in their usual white label sticker can wouldn't attract that attention.

the "green" comment is interesting, especially after they seemingly sat on Mosaic Punch for 1 or 2 weeks after canning.

I'm going to push back on this. Any one buying a $20 4 pack just b/c the label "looks cool" is a ridiculous notion IMO. $20 is still $20, its not like we are talking about an $8 6-pack. While the can art looks cool, I actually myself prefer the minimalist can art the use on the majority of releases. I bought it b/c I liked Kona Big Wave back before I got really into craft beer when I was younger and this reminded me of that which some adjuncts I think would taste good (and I know my friends prob will like it) I would assume most people bought for the same reason. I think the excitement was driven by another Punch, which to date have been 2 of their most successful IPAs

Yeah, I think Mandarina was canned the Thurs before it was released if I remember reading the date right

+1 on this. I have never bought a beer because it "looks cool". I think the adjuncts had appeal to me for the tropical favors for upcoming holiday weekend and temperature increase...

Also tbh most of Kane's cans have been on point, so buying 1 4 pack to try is something i don't mind doing usually

(side note i split a 4 pack of each with a friend, to not overload on beer)

I'd agree. While the can did look "cool" I bought a 4pk for myself because I thought the beer sounded really good, and I considered buying a 2nd 4pk based off the possibility that a coconut, pineapple blonde intrigued me.

I, frankly, wasn't overly intrigued by Mandarina Punch for whatever reason, and just bought a 4pk to try it.
