mandarina is fickle. i wouldn't be surprised if it's very much muted next to the pineapple, denali, and galaxy. Though Kane's old Mandarina Bavaria hop lab from like 201...5? i think it was, was really good.

Yeah, the Punches have been two of my favorite beers (haven't opened Mandarina yet) and I bought more than I would have of Mosaic b/c I love the beer. This past weekend I got 2 of each 4 pack, b/c I have yet to be disappointed by a Punch and I know my friend will enjoy it as well. Same for the Blonde, I know we will both enjoy it, plus my out of state friends were interested in it as well

Well, I'd expect someone who visits and contributes frequently to Beer Advocate to buy it for the liquid. This forum is quite literally a grouping of the most die hard cultish members of craft beer. But that's not the case for every single person who bought Aloha Shirt.

Overheard it twice on Saturday that the beer was bought because the label "looked cool" and when I texted my employee friend on Sunday he, in his words, wrote "quite a few people got Aloha cause it's good looking" in reference to the art.

There are people buying beer today for different reasons then the people who visit this website buy their beer.

You drink 10% beer in 80-85 degree temperatures? That's impressive.

Not sure where you are coming off on this?

Some beers hide the ABV well. When I think of coconut & pineapple i seem to think of tropical drinks on the beach... so yes, ti would enjoy this on the patio while I bbq..

While I agree beer enthusiasts may not be so swayed by packaging, and perhaps most of those who pick up there beers direct from a source rather than an aisle, to say that packaging has no influence and is a "ridiculous notion" discredits a whole lot of of money and time spent in marketing each year just to attract customers. If this beer was on a shelf with a hundred other beers, the attractive label would certainly serve a greater purpose, but I bet more than 1 person had their interests peaked due to the label. While price may have ultimately deterred them, if the label had them considering purchasing a beer that they normally wouldn't have - it was effective. Some breweries use catch words, others use labels. Kane seems to abstain from both and let their beers do the talking for the most part.

I was actually halfway out the door before they made the announcement. Changed plans because I knew the lines would be mad and I don't favor beers over 7% these days. Really wanted to snag some Sneakbox. Hoping they reload it for this weekend. Everyone seems to be sitting on the punch - any reviews? Too green? Boozy? Curious how fruit forward it could be at nearly 10%.

Had a Mandarina on Sat and loved it. Granted it fell in the middle of a hell of a day of drinking, but it tasted fine. Cracked a can yesterday from the same 4 pack that was super green

FWIW -I've never not enjoyed any of your beers, but Mosaic Punch needs to be on a regular rotation.

Hiding the ABV is a staple of Kane beers.

I can't drink high ABV in high heat. It hits me hard and bloats me up before I finish a can. I've always been impressed by drinkers who don't have that issue.

(For clarification, I'm talking about drinking outside flush in the heat. Climate controlled, any style is fine.)

makes sense.. i am in similiar boat.. i can't do a stout or anything along those lines in the heat..i am impressed by guys who pound double and triple ipa's in the heat...

the flavor profile helps and how they hide the abv..for sure

Had Mosaic Punch for the first time at Cork City in Hoboken last night next to Mandarina. Thought Mosaic Punch tasted kind of like a Sneakbox with a fruit/peach component. Anyone else get that?

Mandarina was awesome IMO. Huge citrus/orange aftertaste and pillowy mouthfeel.
