Hitting the games on Saturday and Sunday. I am woefully unaware of anyplace to get a good beer near the stadium, is that a place I should hit up? Also, got my 19 year old son with me so can't go to anyplace that doesn't allow minors.

just a heads up. I was there over one holiday weekend, I think labor day last year and they were slam packed and did check IDs at the door.

Not saying that this will happen Saturday, but there is a SLIGHT chance that you may have to leave him on the curb while you grab some beers.

Other Half always checks IDs now, I think it shouldn't be a problem as you only need an ID to actually purchase beer. I'm unsure of what the policy is at the tap room about minors though.

I work in Brooklyn and will be stopping by for the Friday Release is their an expectation their will be a long line at opening? If I showed up at 2pm are we talking crazy long line and long wait.

I have gone other times at 2pm to pickup the leftovers from the weekend but have not been back since they moved the hours to 12pm.

Thanks for the info. Not interested in leaving him at the curb so if they don't allow minors inside I would skip it. Not sure how all the timing will work out but will check the place out if I have the time.

Their website says the place is kid friendly. He won't be looking to drink so I would guess they would stamp him or something...

Yeah the place was filled with babies the past few times I went.

Haha, he's no baby but I am not too worried. I will bring down a few Heady Topper to hand around to help ease the way...

thoroughly impressed by Double Cream Get the Honey. Citra for days and the honey touch is so subtle but totally complimentary. I've never liked any honey beers...even trillium's 'cutting tiles' series were all too honey forward for my liking. This is insanely good.

Joking aside, there will most likely be limited to no seating for your child though.

Thanks for the info. I think I mentioned earlier that he is 19, so not too worried about that. If it is too crowded we will grab cans (if there are any) and growlers and head out.

They may have a problem if he is 19. He's not a kid. Appears more like an underage college kid trying to get beer. I doubt they allow him in. Maybe you can disguise him enough in a stroller though....

Haha, I guess we will see, but personally I think that would be absurd. I could see if he was there with a bunch of other kids close to his age but there with his father? I will report back on how it goes!

Ah sorry I just kinda skimmed through the thread and must have missed that post. As an anecdote, I had a buddy drop by other half to get cans with his younger brother in tow (under 21) since they were on their way to a Mets game. We tried to get his brother into the taproom so the two of us could get a quick beer but the bouncers weren't having it. We didn't want to leave his brother alone on the sidewalk so we just left

It's not going to happen. There will be 'kids' there within his own age that are 21 and drinking. Plenty of fathers will give their 19 year olds beers anyway...

Bars let babies and toddlers in with their parents, not a 19 year old. There isn't a single (legit) bar in the city that will let at 19 year old in -- with parents or not.

You can also just call Other Half tomorrow and ask if it's allowed (assuming they pick up, never called them before).

Set him up with a happy meal across the street!

Contrary to what @rozzom wants for this thread, it continues to be clear to me that people should know there's a McDonald's across the way, a fact that might not be obvious even if you're at OH.

Oh, I will give him beer, just at home, not out at a brewery or restaurant (I mean, he just finished freshman year at college, drinking is not a foreign concept to him!). I can understand their issue, and have never been to OH, so maybe it is just a crazy tap room where they can't keep track of stuff and don't want to bother with it. But it does bring up the question where they draw the line, 10 years, old? 12, 15? Is the place set up so you can get cans (if there are any) and growler fills without going into the taproom? I am happy to get stuff and go if it works that way.

I can't think of any breweries up here in NE that have had an issue with it but we are just simple country folk...haha.

Again, thanks for all the replies and help!
