Short's Brewing Releases & Updates (2018)

Can confirm grocery stores got them today. Got my PCG at Westborn Market in Livonia.

 

I know Busch's and Holiday in Canton have it out now, but have no idea about the Kroger or Meijer.

 

I also just picked up a case at Meijer in metro Detroit. Damn good stuff.

 

Indeed! Just had it on tap for the first time at World of Beer Canton. Would have had it last year there but went golfing and they were out before I got there. They got 1/4 barrel this year and still have a good amount left.

 

I honestly blanked and forgot about this one (which I love btw) and went into my local Kroger (Union Lake Rd) for some stuff and there it was!!!

Pick up 12 and it’s just as good as the last two years. Honestly how often can you get fresh beers these days - enough said.

 

This is one great thing about Short's. They are remarkably consistent in my book.

 

Agreed! Only time I really tasted some differences was Melt My Brain two years ago was too coriander and juniper berry forward. Last year was too lime forward and this year I think they got it down perfect. Still a perfect beer for all your yard work and golf needs.

 

Just so you guys know, I talked to a rep at a tap takeover last week and there will be no Nicie distribution this year. He said it was descision based on the over saturation of summer wheats from everyone else, and the love/hate from consumers and Short's brewers. Apparently pepprcorn in beer is pretty decisive.

 

Anyone know if Cat Grass has hit anywhere in Ann Arbor yet? Checked a few spots yesterday, they said they didn’t expect it until Tuesday, which is a pretty long time given the whole <24hrs gimmick of this beer.

 

It should have hit everywhere in Michigan on Friday.

It was nice to grab some Cat Grass easily on SW MI Saturday while there for the holiday weekend. I forgot how crazy hoppy that beer is. I ended up coming home with a couple 6 packs to drink and share. I would like to have it on tap somewhere if it’s on in the Chicago area.

 

Picked up PCG at Jungle Jims 3 days ago $13 here,worth it,also I had a pint of it at their bar for $4

 

Variety pack 3.0 is scheduled for a June release, anybody hear any whispers of what is in it?

 

V2 literally just hit my area last week. I doubt another one is getting ready to drop this month.

 

V2 hit Detroit area 2 weeks ago and was slated for April-May release, so unfortunately I do not think we are getting V3 until mid to late July.

Also, most grocery stores that carry them, do not like to put the new ones out until the old versions are gone, so that may delay them hitting the market as well.

The niciest thing I can say about Nicie is that I'm glad I get to buy a ton of both MMB and Soft Parade Shandy this summer.

 

I'd take Nicie over Soft Parade Shandy. But I'm keeping track of how many MMB the wife and I drink this year. 36 and counting so far!

Michigan only distro for this one, folks. Although I guess Chicago area BAs will be able to enjoy it whenever Half Acre does a release.

 

So I had Cat Grass on tap twice this year, bought 3 Sixers of bottles. Recently got my hands on a six pack of cans, the cans are like a totally different beer all together. Poured a bottle and a can side by side different color and all. Didn't know if anyone else experienced this.
