So at a raffle of bottles fer Mexican Cake tonight I found bottles of arguably my favorite brown ale ever from Lazy Magnolia: Southern Pecan. It’s been years since I’ve had it when I used to travel to TN more. Does anyone know if they are officially distributin’ here now? The store clerk didn’t have a huge amount of info that I was lookin’ fer.
According to the Lazy Magnolia website, Advintage Distributing is their official distributor in NC so I'm guessing they are officially here.
I think Advintage has carried Lazy Magnolia in NC for a while now, maybe almost a year. That said, they don't seem to have made a very big impact on the local market here in the Triad. I would imagine the big box stores like Total Wine & More probably carry a few of their beers.
It just caught me by surprise. I’ve followed Lazy Magnolia on The Facebook fer several years now and a few times a year I would ask ‘bout NC distro and it was always a reply of: “Hopefully soon!” I can’t speak to their other beers as all I’ve had is Southern Pecan (which I obviously love) and then I think I had two anniversary bottles from a few years back. Maybe 10th year? All I remember is the base beer was actually also Southern Pecan.
I’ve seen them around Raleigh now for probably close to a year. I was stoked to see them finally showing up! Always has to grab some from friends coming up from Bama or Georgia. Above certainly nailed it with the big box stores, just yesterday Total Wine was stocked pretty well on southern pecan and their sweet potato stout. Pelagic and a few other places that I’ve seen has had some of their stuff on the shelves as well, including more than just southern pecan and the sweet potato stout.
