I'm digging it. I am getting a lot of red berry notes up front and then there's a nice amount of bitterness on the finish. No creamy lactose or heavy mouth feel, very dry. It's definitely different from most of the other dual hops they've done thus far. Not my favorite, but still good.

Thoughts on ‘the other day’? Haven’t cracked one yet but that hop blend looks appealing.

They should sell OH branded coolers. They would clean up!

Indeed. Similar model to Hops Hill, I believe, where they determine what cans to allow for to-go consumption.

While I'm on it, BGH has a huge sign that says no dogs, but you can definitely bring your mutt. What up there?

As a so far merch-less OH regular, I’d buy that

I thought the Other Day was great. I found the quality similar to Forever Simcoe in profile.

I think that’s from “The Great Dog Purge” a couple years ago. BGH, OF, MD etc had allowed dogs. Then I think there was a change to the law that prevented that, but which has since been rolled back or something? I forget the exact sequence

Correct me if I am wrong but it was once illegal to allow dogs in an establishment that sold food within the same building, but I think the law has loosened up since.

Someone organized a dog meetup on Facebook at BGH w/o telling BGH. I believe somehow it was brought to the city's attention. Since then, if you bring a dog to BGH, it must be when the front windows are open and the dog must be more or less outside on the Smith St side at one of those tables.

After having a can, I don't see this beer offering much more than the 8.5% version. It's slightly less floral, and a touch more smooth. Meh, easy pass in the future.

So basically simcoe can do alone what 4 different hops blended together can do. Next you’ll tell me that pork chops, bacon and ribs all come from the same magical animal.

I was at the taproom last night with some friends, and I couldn't distinguish the Triple from the Double even while trying them back to back.

African Queen + Mosaic was very good, and I thought the Laid Back was comparable to a standard Hudson Valley Sour IPA. I hope they continue to play around with the style, at least over the summer.

Other than outdoor seating I’ve always thought dogs were off limits at any place with a kitchen. None of those bars mentioned above have one though - chips are about the extent of it (and you can bring food from outside)

Is that the same incident? Whatever I’m thinking of affected a few bars temporarily (the other places those guys own, plus IIRC the Gate as well)

I'd completely believe any differences I perceive are only imagined.

African Queen + Mosaic reminds me of most the other double hop beers, switch citrus and stone fruits for a bit more berry.

Yes. I live a few blocks from BGH and it's been my local for the past 6 years. I remember one of the bartenders who now works at GB would sometimes bring her dog in during her shift.

The Other Day is a fantastic DIPA. I said it in wbaydn but I really wish I splurged and got 2 4s instead of 1. Exactly what I wanted.

No I’m sure you know what you’re talking about. I was just asking if it was the same incident that affected those other bars I mentioned or something separate. OF is my local for the record
