Brass Foundry Question 63 hit stores on 5-25-18 (in the new standard packaging, i.e., 16 oz. 4-packs). I agree with @KarlHungus that it's surprisingly good. Brass Foundry's social media gives me the impression that the Minnetonka taproom's opening is quite a ways out, but the brewery otherwise is open and operating.

Confusingly, their cans say "Brass Foundry Brewing Co. St. Paul, Minnesota". I'd be mighty confused about where they were located if I hadn't heard directly from them that they're in Minnetonka.

It is very confusing. Established in Minneapolis, cans say St. Paul, but brewed in Minnetonka? The IPA is pretty good.

Stopped by Bobbing Bobber in Hutchinson. Nicely done building and nice taproom. Heavy on the fishing and boating theme which should not be surprising. The beer was for the most part pretty good for a new brewery. Had the standard styles on and they also had a Gose which I did not try. Brown, porter, pale ale, kolsch, wheat, etc. for a total of 10. The IPA did suck however.

Came across a semi-new BIP this morning while riding the bus in to my indentured position downtown.

The Nordic Brewing Co., to be based in suddenly popping and hopping Monticello, MN.

Their FaceBook (which apparently is about all they have out in electronic land at this point):

(If that link doesn’t work, I blame my iphone.)

Maybe my move to Delano won't be so bad after all.

There are a lot of good breweries scattered around the area. Lupine is quite good despite not making the waves that Lupulin has done which opened around the same time. Birch's is just down Highway 12 (the deathway) which is one of the best breweries in the state if you can get past the fruited kettle sours and shandy's. Up in Buffalo is a nice brewery that has been producing some very nice beers for several years.

I'd agree with these thoughts. Lupine is quite good. Birch's is even better in my opinion...The Irish place in Buffalo is decent enough too...

It would appear Brass Foundry is no longer opening a tap room in Minnetonka, and from their various social media pages it doesn't appear that they're in any rush to explain why or what their current plan is. The following link shows that they withdrew their request with the City of Minnetonka for a permit and license at the Baker Rd. space.

    https://eminnetonka.com/current-pro...s/1931-brass-foundry-brewing-co-5959-baker-rd

And, the address that now shows on their social media pages is in Minneapolis, close to the Rudy Luther Toyota on the south side of 394...but no taproom or stated intention of opening a public space there.

I've followed their progress and also saw them using a couple of addresses. Without a taproom perhaps they'll be a beer marketing company (with the beer brewed elsewhere)?

There's nothing wrong with that of course, but I'd bet some of the locals were getting excited about another, new taproom in that neck of the woods!

Their cans may have actually been brewed in St. Paul. I’m guessing Flat Earth is contract brewing again.

Also, that address was listed on their social media before they announced the Minnetonka facility.

I've only been there once, but all the beers my group and I had where really well made. I could have drank their Helles all day long, and been mighty happy.

They're not chasing the trendiest styles but the beer is all well made and in good variety. The grapefruit ipa and Simcoe Keller pils are both outstanding.
