Yeah it's a conundrum: There's little reason a Citra beer can't be made regularly. But if it was made regularly, it would degrade on the shelf. I actually like that it feels a little special every June. But that speaks more to how it's hard to have hoppy beers in your rotation right now given the riches in Chicagoland

I think BHA could be sustained as an offering every two months or quarterly and still fly off the shelves similar to some of the TG variants of Psuedo Sue that aren't year round every day beers.

Good point on the shelf beer thing, so fine, maybe not year round, but way more than it's available currently. Navaja was a great first step to putting one of their (imo) best beers in cans for most of the year (shame they moved it to 6 months, but whatever), but as @HouseofWortship mentioned, if TG is cranking out great IPAs to Binnys this regularly, I demand HA get BHA ready to go!

I want to know why there was no Space IPA on draft the last time I went to the Lincoln tap room (maybe about a week ago). I thought that was a house IPA that was always supposed to be on. Still my favorite beer of theirs and I was thoroughly disappointed not to see it available.

Preen is sensational. Nose is out of this world. Its got a little sweetness followed by a solid dry bite. Happily paid $20 for a four pack.

Beer Hates Astronauts is tasting great on draft, but does anyone remember 2 years ago when it was an absolute hazy juice bomb? I still remember that as one of the best beers I’ve had not just from HA but in Chicago. Seems like the past two years have just been a solid Citra IPA

Haha yeah we had quite the discussion about that last year. It was very hazy in 2016 on draft though I wouldn’t call it a juice bomb as there was still malt/bitterness from what I recall.

Agree. Though it had a hazy appearance, it was nowhere near a NE IPA in terms of “juice”. It was still quite bitter.

I'm guessing you've already figured it out yourself, but I was in there just after Noon and the fridge was fully stocked.

A couple years back the tap version of BHA was hazy as hell. Not a full NEIPA, but definitely moving in that direction. I didn't think it was better than the bottled/clear version, but it was different--not as crisp or citra-forward, but with a fuller body.

Personally, I'm glad it's clear again. I'll take it a step further: This year's BHA is fantastic. HA sometimes has an issue where sediment in the bottle/can makes the beer more murky and muted, but these cans seems perfect. Their Citra + Vienna malt + house yeast combo is awesome. HA is still my go-to anytime I get tired of all the super-hopped hazy beers, and this is their classic, as far as I'm concerned.

    Preen is incredible guys.

I thought Sailors Kush was my favorite. But Preen delivers equal intensity in a much cleaner way. Equinox bomb in the best way possible.

wow, sailor's is probably my favorite of theirs and one of the best beers I had last year.

was just going to get BHA, but will have to strongly reconsider now...
