7 Saws in Holden opened their tap room this week. Small but comfortable. Nice atmosphere.

The distro shelves and tap lines are overflowing, I wonder how many more breweries MA can sustain on taproom business alone

I mean, this is kind of the ideal model for breweries now. Not even having to use distro. And with breweries taking the place of townie bars or, like, Applebees as the community meeting place, you're seeing breweries that are an ingrained and integral part of their towns. They're economic hubs.

Even small towns where, 10 years ago, the thought of a brewery being there is ludicrous.

Trying to keep track of the imminent openings in Connecticut this summer, with my best guesses in parentheses. The first three are almost certainly going to be open within 6 weeks.
Noble Jay, (Niantic, mid/late June, beer in tanks)
Bad Dream Brewing (New Milford, before end of June, beer in tanks)
Tribus (Milford, late June/ earlyJuly, plumbing complete, no beer in tanks)
East Rock Brewing Company (New Haven, July/August, pouring concrete early April)
Woodbury Brewing (Woodbury, mid-summer?, restaurant open, brewing equipment on floor, no beer)
    Labyrinth Brewing (Manchester, August?)
Problem Solved Brewing (East Windsor, mid/late summer, tanks arrived)
Norbrook Farm Brewery (Colebrook, mid/late summer, tanks installed)
Niantic Public House and Brewery (East Lyme, late summer)
Erector Brewing Collective (New Haven, fall, apparently has tanks)

When I look through articles and social medias update for this list, it's amazing how many times I see things along the lines of their post with the sign for "Coming in 2016" with the 6 photoshopped over and replaced with a 7, still lingering on facebook a year later. They also said, this spring, that they'd be open "before you hit the beach!"

Optimism is to be applauded, but there's a point at which you really need to just be honest and say "here's where we are, here's what we need to do" and get back to work. I'd say 75% of breweries miss their initial stated target by at least a year.

That's what happens when you try and open a brewery while maintaining a full time job. (at least I think that's the case here...) Still looking forward to it, I think Todd will produce some quality beers.

Good list! FWIW, Woodbury does have one of their beers on tap. Not sure if it's brewed there or elsewhere?

Not sure, their social media presence is lacking when it comes to actual brew ops. If anyone else has any information on that or another brewery not on this list, feel free to hit me up (only really interested in planned 2018 openings). It looks like I might be able to cross off my last two breweries in Connecticut (Legitimus, Charter Oak) before someone else opens later this month.

News came out on Friday that Walden Woods has canceled their plans to open a brewery and taproom. This article notes three other Marlborough breweries in the works: Lost Shoe Brewing, Strange Brewery and Tackle Box Brewing.

[shrug] Bear hands was deleted from my initial list because there was no evidence on social media that they've progressed towards anything.

Looks like they've picked a location - a storefront on the main drag. I've heard they're making progress. Not a lot to go on though.

I made my s/o Instagram message these Tapparoo's a couple years back. They had been listed on various BeerMedia™ and 4Square for quite some time. They replied with a polite "friends only bro" reply. Guess I'll finally get to taste their inner circle.
