Keep an eye on their website. They do a pretty good job at keeping it up to date regarding their stock.

Hey quick question. Never been to half acre. I'm starting at the Midway cta station Saturday around noon and need to be back by 7Ish. Is it worth going all the way up there or are there good bars with half acre on tap closer?

I think you are better off going to HA if you want to try multiple HA beers as most bars will usually carry a couple of the line in cans and then maybe a one off or seasonal or two on draft. A lot of the one-offs don't leave HA in my experience. You may want to throw a stop at Corridor and Provisions in since it is less than one block from the Brown Line on the way to HA or back. And I'd guess that Midway trip to HA is going to run you at least 1.5 if not 2 hours each way.

There might not be anywhere to park something that big.

Yeah Google says 1.5. Actually going to the fire game in Bridgeview and there are multiple bars with busses straight there so might just grab one of these for trip back

If your goal is to try a lot of Half Acre, the Balmoral location would be your best bet. Plus they have food and a great space overall. It's not close to Midway but if you do it right, you can do it for $5.00 roundtrip on our public transportation. $2.50 CTA train ride each way.

I love going to Half Acre, but I don't think I'd spend 3 hours on public transportation just to go there. But, if you're dead set on trying a variety of Half Acre beers and don't mind that commitment, then go for it.

exactly how much cta credit I have left from last time. Honestly only other plans were to walk along the lakefront or just sit on the beach and read. Either location walkable to the beach?

No. You'll need to take a bus or cab to get to the beach from either of their locations.

Both are by damen, so walkable but a long walk to the lake. The montrose bus, from the lincoln spot, could help.

2.7 miles from the Lincoln location to Montrose beach...probably a good 40-50 minute walk each way. Add that on top of 1.5 hours to get to Half Acre from Midway...yikes.

Agreed, doesn't make much sense, that's why I mentioned the bus. But, if you go to the lake first via red line and then walk to half acre, it could be a day activity.

What bar do you have to wind up at for the shuttle to the Fire?

It could be, but during that minimum 3.5 hour transportation journey, I'd be thinking about how I could be having another beer or two somewhere else.

anyone seen beer hates astronauts downtown / river north area? been way to busy and haven't been able to travel to other parts of the city this week. i struck out at binny's grand and warehouse liquors yesterday as both hadn't received it yet and both spots didn't seem sure on when they would be getting it either. do spots like whole foods, jewel or mariano's usually get it? thanks in advance, i appreciate it.
