Awesome name/label and the beer is decent as well, if far from great. A nice, mildly sour Saison brewed with cloudberries, which gives this a certain tart blackberry note.

    Think I'll strap this one on . . .

Beautiful amber gold color with white cap.

Aroma of caramely malt with definite lime and ginger highlights.

Taste is led by citrus backed by solid caramel malt. Lime is in the forefront but not in an intrusive way, rather riding on the malt base. I'll say ginger as well but that part strikes me as more spicy than gingery along with something bordering on sweetness without really being sweet. Hops add some high notes mid palate and linger in the aftertaste.

    Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

So what would a solid amber beer flavored with lime and ginger taste like you ask, well, it would taste like this. Solidly constructed, well balanced and flavorful in a spicy lime way that doesn't taste artificial. I'm not sure I would change this with more or less flavor additions because it's well balanced as is.

One of the spoils of my trip to Virginia. Picked up a few bottles at 8.50 a piece.

    This is incredible.

That is my Alcarity, a 50 year old English twin keeler I was given last year - I have 6 sailboats, so I know....hard to keep track! The one I posted a pic of yesterday is still in my boathouse being worked on - hope to get her in the water this weekend - that one is called a Stevenson Weekender I bought in 2016 for $100 and needs some work - cheap project boats tend to find me (well, boats and beer glasses too! haha!)

Pic below is not my boat, but same model / type (from designer's website)

I took Mrs. Z to the airport at 6:30 this morning so she can attend a conference this weekend out west. After cleaning the kitchen and playing some guitar, I’m in the backyard playing fetch with the two dogs, and groovin’ on beer #2, my favorite DIPA so far on this trip to the great northeast:

South Glens Falls, NY Common Roots Brewing Company - “Daylight”...and no, it’s not a NEIPA...it’s medium lite bodied, has excellent clarity and is crisp enough for 8%...it smells like a tropical fruit punch bowl and tastes of mango, passion fruit, slightly dank and weedy, bright grapefruit and lemon grass, minimal bitterness with a stitch or two of stickiness, clean malt bill and a joy to drink. Canned 5/7/18 and knocking my socks off with soft rounded fruit flavors.

It’s 64 degrees outside and the sun is trying to poke through the clouds...and the dogs say, “put down the iPhone already and play with us!” Cheers!

So I’m new to working nights (I’m a Trauma and Burn ICU nurse) and the time changes and conversions has me all out of whack.

I got sent home at 0300 because we had a low amount of patients last night.. so I decided to get the earliest tee time at the local golf course! (Since I’m wide awake) and since it was my “weekend” I thought I’d break out my last Bourbon Paradise from Prairie.

    *Was 93 degrees by 0900*

Honestly, the beer was mind-blowing fresh... but it got thinner and more subdued when aged.

Anywho, I had a great round of golf. I shot 79 for the first time in 2 years. Life ain’t too bad!

    Cuvée Watou from Leroy Breweries.

Sounds a bit modern, but their history goes back for ages (est. 1572). They also produce Hommelbier from Poperinge. (Has nothing to do with St. Bernardus Watou by the way)

    Cheers!

Thanks! Hope to get some "in the water" pics for that boat soon! Cheers....
