That might be true. It's a dead easy style word play. Panty Gose. There She Gose. Away She Gose. She Gose Down.

I like Evil Twin's NOMADer quite a bit, and also, gotta throw up a shout out to my hometown hero:

I'm a huge fan of everything within this style, but I can understand why some aren't fans. It really is a flavor profile that polarizes a good section of the beer drinking community.

Yuzu Fierce is lovely, but I have a weird affinity for the various North Coast entries. Tart Cherry seems to be the most common I see, but the Quince is really tasty too. I've had plenty of traditional or non-flavored versions, but hey, good beer is good beer.

I think the lines are being blurred here in the US when it comes to Berliner Weisse and Gose styles. Breweries like The Answer are turning them into “Joose” by making them more alcoholic fruit juice (extremely tasty at that) than beer. Not sure they should be classified as such and might give newer craft beer drinkers a skewed idea of a certain style.

I have a local brewery, exile, that makes a Berliner I enjoy, beatnik sour, and fruited versions, the bohemian series. They aren't to style, but are very refreshing and enjoyable session kettle sours.

I'm fond of De Garde's Berliner Weisse, and Redhook's Brewlab collaborated on one last summer that was quite good.

Festina Peche and The Dude's Brewing Peach Berliner Weisse were some awesome beers that I really enjoyed! By the way Festina Peche is from Dogfish Head Brewing. This beer style is a great refreshing beverage for those hot ass Vegas days and nights we have here in the desert. Also love me some good Gose when I can get it during the summer. Love Anderson Valley for the Gose style!

I thought Press Tart from Rhinegeist was a good offering. I had it at the taproom there, but have seen it now offered in cans.

I wanted to try this but for some reason everywhere that had it on tap it was on nitro. I'm not a fan of nitro, and I feel like non-stouts on nitro would just be...odd.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Festina Peche, it's drinkable for something easily accessible, but it was kind of boring to me. My favorite Berliner (right now) is from a local brewery, Hop Farm Brewing "Margot."

didn’t read the whole thread so i apologize if this one has already been mentioned, but firestone walker bretta rosé is a good berliner that gets national distribution.

I picked up Stone's White Ghost this week and quite like it. Brewed in Berlin, so I suppose it had better be authentic. Glad to have found one without the additional flavorings.

Sierra Nevada's Beercamp Around the World last summer had a Dry Hopped Berliner style Weisse done in collaboration with Texas's Saint Arnold that I enjoyed a great deal, even though it was a one off.

Apparently so - labeled for US (tho' I've yet to see it).

Here, many of us have been waiting for a true an actual German-brewed (in Berlin, no less) Berliner Weisse to be exported to the US again - who'd have thought it would be from Stone....

Yeah, good point - wrong term - edited above.

I'm not so sure it's all that "true German", though:

JK, you can set your timer before you see the first post stating that Stone White Ghost is not an ‘authentic’ Berliner Weisse beer. Somebody will say the ABV is too high. Another will say that the hops used are not ‘authentic’. And so on…

    Cheers!

    P.S. From the Stone website:

    “Stone White Ghost Berliner Weisse

    Style: Berliner Weisse

    Alc/Vol: 4.7%

    IBUs: 12

Our tartly refreshing, kettle-soured Stone Berliner Weisse gained its orthodox sour and acidic character from a specially selected Lactobacillus strain sourced from local Berlin cultures. To ensure a properly Stone, and therefore iconoclastic, Berliner Weisse, we upped the ABV to a healthy 4.7% and hopped the beer with new German varieties, Huell Melon and Callista. This beer embodies the liveliness of summer with the fruity tang of apricots and the sweetness of ripe honeydew.”

Edit: Not need to set your timer. Michael (@TongoRad) has already made the anticipated comment!:astonished:

I was at a "honor" bar and they had Berliner Weisse beer. I dumped Marascino Cherry juice in it because why not and I really liked it.
