Burley Oak - Home Grown Session IPA

Only 4% ABV. Mild citrus, light lemon. I like how they didn't up the bitterness to cover for the lack of flavors. Not a bad session at all, but not worth the $14.99 price tag for a sixer.

Bags? Never heard of it.

Don't tell me that's another one of those soda vs. pop type things.

The quintessential Summer beer in these parts. Well, at least in my house! Enjoy!

Nearly 100°F working outside today...still got a bonus check along with the pay check (man, this is becoming routine), plus made a last minute $500 sale that will count towards tomorrow's sales totals (too bad it'll be a day off for me -- no, not really...I'll be loving my time off)...starting off with a area pilsner before moving onto bigger brews and bourbon later...

Homebrew take on a spiced-French saison, from a good mate:

Aroma is full of spices (anise, fennel, estery clove, pepper, ginger, and cinnamon) = A herbal, mint-y appeal with notes of pine, lemon, citrus and bready malt. It’s earthy, grassy, and slightly grainy with moderate bitterness and some funk + opens to cantaloupe, melon, orange zest and bubblegum

People call it bags? ESPN calls it cornhole. Bags are what people use to carry groceries. Cornhole is the sport of kings. They even called it cornhole in Westeros, in an episode of Game of Thrones.

Well, went to the big city again and it looks like Tucson is not getting the Born Again Yesterday after seeing Phoenix get it 2 weeks ago. No biggie, this is a nice “consolation’, and I’m indeed enjoying one before I take the boss to the movies, cheers!

Giving Neko a rest for a bit, and putting on the original 1958 printing of Lady in Satin, just cause. With some Eagle Rare, this might be my last drink for the night, but going to return to my all night Nekothon in a little

This was pretty much her last record of note, and you can tell her voice was ravaged. Rumor was that during the recording sessions she just downed vodka from the bottle like water. She wanted to recorded one full album with Ray Ellis before her time was up, and the result is this. Not a lot of people like this album just cause of her rough singing, but it is one of those that has gotten under my skin and I can't forget it. Much like Sketches of Spain really.

Mel Davis has this soaring trumpet solo here that is amazing.

When she first comes in and sings "You've Changed, that sparkle in your eye" is jaw dropping.

Yeah, that be a Midwest thing! (If I could jump in on this exchange.) Being from Indiana, I was pretty stoked to walk into a Wegman's in Syracuse and see one of the liquid aisles labeled properly as "Pop". My wife blows me crap because after (25) years of living on the East Coast, I still refuse to call it "soda".

Had a buddy bring back a bunch of canned beers on yet another Florida trip. I dig the passion fruit and mango aroma, but it tastes very muddled.

Heard this on the U2 XM station. This song has aged well despite being a bit light hearted:

I meant to say @eppCOS, not @SomethingClever with that post. I totally ruined what may have been considered a humorous post. Two guys from Colorado coming here with a Colorado beer makes way more sense than what I posted. Gosh darnnit!

I moved to Milwaukee when I was 6. I got punched in the face for saying "pop." It is "soda."
