Some of my favorite beers have been ones I knew nothing about at the time of drinking. Other than what's on the label, of course .

IMO BCBS is better than KBS but neither lives up to it's hype.

I think it depends, it varies not only from person to person but from style to style, too. I, as well, prefer 8 to the 10, however I'd choose a Double Bastard Ale (10.5%) over an Arrogant Bastard (7.2%) any day (though they are both delicious).

I actually thought this years Parabola was better than KBS. But I drank them months apart, so as a thanksgiving treat, I'm going to drink them together and see how they compare against each other.

So getting back to the original post, we have determined he was talking about FBS, not KBS. So, about FBS. For me, it is the single best coffee stout out there, bar none. The runners up coffee stouts are Peche Mortel and Wake N Bake.

You'll never find, have to trade, but I'd be surprised if you could find another Stout that would blow KBS away. Some might prefer another, but nothing will destroy it. IMO KBS is as good as it gets, but I'm pretty limited wit the Stout heavyweights too. I would imagine a BA Alesmith might be equal though, if you like coffee.

That will pretty much always be the case wehn you go into a beer with preconcieved ideas on who it should be.
Yup, couldn't agree more. I have found that when I finally got to try some very high rated beers that I have been disappointed. It happens, rate it how you see fit and move on.

I prefer the CBS to both the KBS and the FBS. If anyone tells you anything different, it's just BS.

Definitely, CBS is the best, it should be there right next to the KBS, or maybe on a different shelf with the big bottles right next to the King Henry, Bourbon County Rare, & Bourbon County Vanilla. If you don't see it ask as the truck may have not come in that day!:grimacing:

While you're there might as well grab a sixer of Westvleteren 12 or 8 and maybe a growler of Younger from the refrigerated section!

Seriously, there are many great beers to try before you hunt the shelf Walez, grey Walez, or old "Moby Dave" himself!:grinning:

Imperial Biscotti Break is pretty much a double founders breakfest stout. Delish and one of my wifes faves. Plus you can get it online. Which is pretty convenient.

Definitely try Founders Imperial Stout next if you can find it. IMO that's the next rung in the Founders stout ladder.

Every time I have a KBS I am literally blown away. The sweet bourbon, zero bite and incredible mouthfeel are up there with the best.

YES, this is information that should be privately messaged to RTA and I. So we can distro the beer appropriately...
