I would be surprised if they had a back stock of the cans sold on Sunday, they may have a few of them, but not enough to give people new cans.

I can’t be the only one, but this shake is just a solid NE IPA. I’ve cracked several cans and have yet to get any fruit or lactose. I got strong fruit notes from the double milk crowler I picked up but not on regular sixer. Anyone else?

The canned St. sixsixsixer isn’t a milkshake so you shouldn’t get any lactose. As far as the fruit notes, I get a lot of grapefruit, a bit of lime, and then citrus fruit rind. Not as tropical juice as the double milkshake version that was crowlered.

All my cans are fine, glad I'm one of the lucky ones. Tired Hands compensation efforts for those with leaking cans seems acceptable to me. If you expect TH to compensate you for your time waited in line you're delusional.. people rolled up at 3pm with no line wait and got full allotments.

Maybe if people didn’t ship beer in boxes that get thrown around by ups or whoever the seals wouldn’t break. Just saying, if you’re shipping beer youre subjecting it to something that it was never intended to be subjected to. Do the complainers take this into account? If they were in your fridge and you drank them yourself they’d be fine.

I literally put them in a cooler when I bought them, brought them home, and put them right into the fridge. So, yes, I did consider shipping but then I realized that I did not ship the beer so that must not be the issue. If the can cannot survive the trip home, that kind of defeats the purpose of putting it in the can.

I think it's silly to denigrate people that aren't happy with leaky cans. I know I am personally not that upset, I know shit happens, but I also do know that Tired Hands should be embarrassed by something like this. Especially with one of their more anticipated beers out of their biggest release of the year.

The St666er is just an NEIPA adjunct-ed with fruit. So it is not surprising you don't get any lactose. I get mostly grapefruit out of it with a bit of sweetness, but that's mostly it.

Of Triple Vanilla and Only Void? That's very doubtful.

Besides, they run the can release in a way that they know full well will require people to invest several hours of their time. To say they shouldn't compensate people for that just totally lets them off the hook. They can sell tickets online if they don't want to have a large time investment be part of the cost of the beer.

I realize it's delusional to expect they would actually do it. Doesn't make it shitty that they won't. They get to charge $6 a can precisely because of their scarcity marketing that requires people to stand in long lines for certain beers. The right thing to do is fully compensate people when they get fucked over by that.

That's exactly what some of my OV cans look like from the Vanilla Coffee release. Cracked one last night, and it's perfectly fine. I don't think that means the can is leaking, could just be overflow or spillage that got on the rim during filling, that then oozes out when the lid is put on. Some people have reported that additional liquid oozes out when they squeeze the can, in which case it's definitely busted. But if you give it a squeeze and it appears to be sealed, it's probably fine.

My brother-in-law also once had the whole lid pop off a can of HopHands as he attempted to open it, but managed not to spill it everywhere.

I just assumed it must have only been cans that were shipped, my bad. Hope they drink fine.

They should also add driving time and/or mule fees to their refund.

Yeah full allotments at 3pm. Had a buddy send me a pic after he went through and busted my balls for getting in line and waiting myself. Im really not sure what more people want (i.e. gift cards? Merch? Free meal?) I agree and hope one day they go to a ticket/wristband system but for some reason they cant figure out logistics of that either.

They should get a refund and a set-aside replacement of an upcoming can release of their choice, so they can get a comparable replacement without having to wait in line again. That at least helps compensate for the time spent in line. I really don't think that is asking too much.

Your buddy may have bought some from a mule and then fooled you. By all accounts there were more than enough people in line at open to sell out of the Milkshakes, and then some. Also, Tired Hands reported on IG that the line was 120 people deep at 3 PM, so he didn't just walk up at 3 PM and get full allotments with no line. Didn't happen.

Again.. they cant even get a ticket/wristband system right and you expect them to keep a record of replacement beer for patrons? I don't see it happening. Has there been any other email releases from TH that show what else they may be willing to offer? They were quite generous with the exploding growler issue.

I cant speak for my friend I just know what he said and what I saw. Ill just leave it at that.

By standing in line for a new release beer, you are taking a risk. Yes, the brewery should get it right, but there is not reason why they should over pay-back for the issue. Refund the money paid and move on. No addition time/money or set asides needed. It's bad enough there will be guys that had perfectly sealed cans getting more money back than they paid and still drinking the beer.

Did Tired Hands ever release an explanation for why the growlers were exploding?

    Cheers!

As long as people continue to line up, post on Instagram about #linelife, and pay steadily increasing prices, I would say Tired Hands has little incentive to change.

The way I read the message in Post #137, people need to turn in the cans to get the refund.

Not that I remember. I was hearing all sorts of rumors at the time.. the way they purge the growlers with CO2, new growler manufacturer, etc.

I too have not heard/read whether Tired Hands made it known why growlers were exploding. As a customer of Tired Hands I think it would have been best/appropriate for this issue to be explained to us customers. Maybe a lawyer informed Tired Hands to not be transparent here?

    Cheers!

Heading down to Tired Hands for lunch and maybe pick up a 4-pack of something before heading camping out at French Creek. Would you recommend a visit to Stoudt's or Sly Fox either on the way or return from camping? Sole Artisan (forgetting the new name)? Weyerbacher? Also, if you have any recommendations where to pick up a 24-30 pack of something delicious, light and local for camping, I'd appreciate.

Maybe I'll get lucky and catch the remnants of whatever's releasing this week as well.
