More than being branded, a lot of the varieties are proprietary to certain farms / breeding groups. Homebrewers can get rhizomes of hops like Centennial and Warrior to grow at home, but it's not possible to get proprietary ones like Simcoe or Citra.

Ended up going Saturday Morning to the release..I have not been to a release in Months.. and it was incredibly different than my last experience..

We arrived early..the line was short..no complaints out of me.. Started moving I want to say around 9:30ish..we had our beer in the car and a pour in hand by 10ish. Really smooth and going out of the warehouse as opposed to the old taproom space was completely diffrent. The staff was really great and helpful and i was very impressed with how quick they got everything out.

The taproom line up was awesome. Love the variety of beers they have available and it was not overly packed. Had a few pours and we were able to get back home at a decent time to enjoy the weather. As we left there was no line, which I assume for locals is awesome to take the subway or walk to grab some beers mid-afternoon.

No issues or complaints at all for me. Just overall great experience. I will say we were surrounded by guys drinking and taking part in sharing with eachother. We did not bring beer with us or take part, but it seems like they all show there every weekend and were really chill with sharing and trading fairly with everyone. The conversations were a little much for me and i wont judge anyone for how they spend their Saturdays but it was interesting at the least to see how that works..

coming home with 5 different beers was a win ...

I ended up getting there around 7:30 AM on Saturday with one of my buddy's to take part in the line share. We had never been to one at any brewery before, so we wanted to do it for the experience. I wasn't really sure what to expect since some people seem to hate the line lyfe, and some people go all the time. It was a little intimidating at first since there were several groups and everyone in the groups seemed to know each other pretty well. However, after a few minutes of listening to conversations we ended up just offering some of the group members a pour of the beers we brought and they were happy to try them and give us some pours of whatever they were drinking. Everyone was super friendly and I ended up having some great conversations about different breweries and beers we were interested in. The majority of the line was dudes (all of the women I talked to were super cool btw), so I'm sure some convos were typical guy stuff - not really a big deal imo.

Overall, it was a great experience and I was pleasantly surprised at how chill everyone was and all of the great beers I got to have a taste of. I even traded a Bissell Bros Nothing Gold for a couple of Hill Farmstead IPA's (thank you for the trade if the dude reads these forums!). I don't think I could do it very often given I'm getting into my mid-thirties and drinking takes its toll more than it used to, but I could see myself going a couple of times a year when I don't have anything else to do on a Saturday.

We were probably ten people back once the line wrapped around the corner. Once the line started we both had cans within 5 minutes, so props to OH for being awesome in that aspect, as usual. We got some tasters in the tap room before leaving and was really surprised by Laid Back. Also tried All Royal Everything for the first time and really liked it.

Agree on alot of these sentiments. Laid Back was very good. Wish that was available for growler fills..

I echo alot of what was said above.. I think some of the guys around me took unofficial Ciceronne to a whole new level.. some of my favorite topics were

    - who slept the least the previous night, which rolled into who drank the best beer, which rolled into what time is too early the next day for a beer (decision was there is no too early when you are with your friends)
    - they went very in deep on flavor profiles, what they got from it and a few times i saw beer getting dumped because it "wasnt up to expectations"
    - bottles of water not to drink, but only to rinse..
    - the amount of beer people transport to share out weighed the beer they were buying
    - the crazies was a conversation of driving to a distant brewery, doing a share and taproom, sleeping in your car to wake up and do the same on sunday then driving home..

all in all nothing crazy but just not my cup of tea.. but again they all were really cool and seemed to have a nice thing going for themselves every saturedaey

You picked the best weekend for it for sure - things are definitely great in general at the moment - but this past weekend was excessively chill

Oh yea I know. I’ve been trying to get my hands on a Mosaic rhizome for years. Short of stealing one I’ll never get one.

Since when did OH open their taproom at noon on weekdays? And cans generally last through the weekend? I might have to start heading there during my lunch hour on Mondays...

idk if there was even an "official" announcement, but sometime around the beginning of May they went from saying that cans would be available in the taproom at 3, to being available at noon.

with some exceptions - at least 1 can makes it to monday lately, they've also been doing the weekday drops.
