[IMG] You know what, I think I may start saving money and crushing more of these. Really nice on a hot day.

Banded Horn Brewing Co., Biddeford ME - “Daikaiju” DIPA brewed with Mosaic, Idaho 7, and Chinook hops:

Well done. Unfiltered yet barely hazy, and medium full yet lite enough to pound. Strong dank mango pineapple nose. Taste is not as strong, but well balanced with semi sweet caramel malt base and no bitterness; lite lemony finish. A tad astringent but otherwise super easy drinking. I like!

I was eyeballing a box today at the supermarket thinking the same thing today; would be handy to have a cooler full at the fishin’ hole or the pool.

I agree, it's one of the 3 top beers I've ever had, and I've been drinking them for 40 years. I have 4 left with a 5/12 born on date that I'll finish this month.

Very nice day today so I took a walk around the beach.
North of the pier - Huntington Beach:

South of the pier - Balboa/Laguna:

West of the pier - the ends of the world (or Hawaii):

And now for a beer that I will always order when I see it on tap. Everyone knows that beautiful red circle tap handle, right?:

First time with "All Roads...." dark color DIPA with a full hop taste. at 3 months old I'm enjoying it but seems like some strong point taste is missing...but I'm no taste-pro...

Outstanding wild saison! Aromas and flavors of big lightly tart lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, mango, melon, citrus peel/zest, red/green apple, white wine, peppercorn, oak, hay, straw, and grass; with some wheat, cracker, white bread, spicy rye malts; lighter leathery/musty funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast earthiness. Moderate peppery yeast/rye spiciness; light tartness, herbal/grassy bitterness, and wine tang/tannins on the finish. High carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced grainy malts, sticky hops; light acidity and wine tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing spicy/carbonated dryness. Super refreshing, 5.8%. Wonderfully well developed Brett/Saison yeast complexity, with citrus/earthy hops; great oak foeder presence, and solid wheat/rye malt backbone. Can't wait to try more from this brewery soon. 4.15

Fantastic NE APA! Great head retention and spotty foamy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, citrus peel/zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with balanced wheat, biscuit dough, rye bready malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Very mild pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; creamy/bready malt and light sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness. Refreshingly drinkable, super soft feel as usual. Great use of Chinook, Crystal, and Simcoe hops for the style. Very juicy, fruity, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a perfectly balanced wheat/bready malt backbone. Not overly sweet. This is more dank/earthy than their others with the heavy C hops. Will be buying it all summer. Another easy winner. 4.25

Greetings from my new digs, BAs! It's been a hell of a week: I came out to Boulder to take a break from things and stay with my father. He announced to me a week ago that I was no longer welcome. I was able in a week to find a place to live and move all my stuff in--no easy feat in Boulder where finding a decent rental is an Olympic event. There's very little to be had between student squalor and NYC/SF prices. Max and I are now relaxing on our sweet little patio and I'm trying to pretend that I don't have an entire house full of boxes to unpack. I am so tired that I made the mistake of doing a pick-6 at Hazel's, which never goes well for me. I seem to recall liking this previously, maybe it's just me because it's just kind of a snooze. The pic is pretty, though!

This was from earlier this afternoon after I'd finally moved the last of the boxes in. Yes, I paired a 3Fgeuze with spicy fried chicken and a side of beans and rice. And let me tell you, it was fantastic! The chicken is my tribute to Tony B.--Popeye's was his favorite, apparently I normally could give a flying fuck about celebrities and their comings and goings, but his abrupt departure really got to me. There are very few people who can be incredibly passionate about food and wine and life and not be pretentious assholes about it--I'm really going to miss his voice. I think he'd approve of the meal... RIP Bourdain.

Here's to moving on, cheers BAs!

Where the water should glow green with waste lol. Last time I was there, a buddy got nailed by a car in a hit and run. He's ok. But Asbury is not kind to my circle. Cheers.

Making good decisions on a Monday night with @mattflippin. We tasted the deconstructed Bomb variants and then did a cuvee compared to the original. The OG won by a mile, but the coffee was very nice.

Been over 50 years. Yes i am that old. I do not aspire to go back to Asbury Park although I attended a Springsteen concert there in the early 70's.

NC beaches are my thing the last 30 years. Check them out my friend. you will not regret it. Be happy to help you.
