Decent Pale Ale - Soft, approachable, and simple.
Outstanding IPA - Notes of sweet orange citrus with a strong supportive malt back bone.

    Cheers!

    3 beers tonight.

    Started out with
    [IMG]
    Trailbreaker from Voyageur Brewing

    3.7/5 rDev +0.8%
    look: 3.75 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.25 | overall: 3.75

This beer pours a light golden color. Minimal white head when poured from the tap. Fairly murky.
The nose has a sweet floral aroma to it.
Taste very floral. Somewhat wild tasting. Sight hops.
The body is lighter and slightly watery, but not overly so.
Easy drinking beer. It would be amazing on a hot sunny day.

    Next up.

    Solid Gold from Founders
    3.31/5 rDev -9.8%
    look: 3.5 | smell: 3 | taste: 3.25 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.5

Pours a very clear light golden color. The head is white and about 1 finger. Minimal lacing on the glass.
The nose is very slight. Maybe a hint of malts.
Taste has a slight sweetness to it. Very slight hop also.
Body is fuller than I would expect.
Good overall, for what it is.

Working on this at the moment
    [IMG]
Citra Blanc from August Schell Brewing

    4.26/5 rDev +0.9%
    look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.25

This beer pours a nice golden color. It is fairly clear. The head is crazy on this beer when poured from the can. 4 finger, frothy as heck. Great retention, and there's some lacing as the head dissipates.
The nose is really full with citrus aromas. It smells orange to me.
Taste - The hops come alive up front, and do not let go. Citrus tasting. Orange, pineapple, grapefruit. The hop taste does linger.
The hops do linger for a long time in my throat, and the feeling doesn't let go. It also has a nice body.
Solid beer from August Schell Brewing. Really delicious.

Much earlier MTNS Walking Grazing Clouds New England IPA x 2. Now a Red Loge Czech Mate Pilsner, stellar. Neptune's Knotty Lotty Latte Stout. Sad but starring down the end of vacation. Had a blast in Yellowstone for sure!

I'm just going to go ahead and say it--Otter Creek is making my favorite (regionally) widely distributed NEIPAs. This and Head Charge are fantastic IPAs and DIPAs, respectively. They're chock full of the dank, pungent, slightly bitter hop character I grew to love from West Coast IPAs, but they pack a punch of juicy, fruity character as well. Neither are overly sweet nor overly bitter; and they're actually clean and crisp, unlike the yeasty, off-flavored mess that many NEIPAs are. And they're easy to find in grocery stores all around me! I couldn't be much happier. I prefer Head Charger over Berner by a slight margin, but this is everything I could hope for in a tasty, well-constructed IPA.

Had to meet up with a friend earlier this evening at his cabinet shop to cut some mahogany pieces so crushed this one in the car while waiting for him.

For the astute ones in the crowd, who noticed the car "radio dial" ...

Right now / real time: 2018 HoptiYum. Might be the evening closer ... then again, might not :smirk: ...

Ok, why did I use the Cigar City beer finder? I could have easily had Maduro on tap yesterday, if I would have used it before my trip to my nephew's grad party.

    I'm irritated!

One more beer to deal with it.

Had the first game of the season in my favorite softball league. Had a couple of MGD's in the parking lot after the game. Now that I am home I am enjoying a Fatheads Head hunter

I need to pick up some Two Hearted. Because 2 months from now the Two Hearted on the Shelves will be the same batch that is on the shelves now.

Are we taking a vote on if that was the closer? If so, I vote not . Then again maybe it is just like me to provide bad advice.

I was in Yellowstone yesterday! Come through Billings and check out Überbrew if it’s not to late.
