I'm leaving the SF Bay Area and while I was here I barely had a chance to check out some of the great breweries. I've only been to Cellarmaker, Southern Pacific, Lagunitas, and Russian River. What are some of the places I shouldn't miss out on?
Depends on how you're defining Bay Area . . . I think most people would count Fieldwork, and possibly Alvarado, which is my current favorite NorCal brewery (outside of RR) by quite a bit. If you can't make it to Alvarado, City Beer in SF gets fresh cans most Wednesdays.
Faction , drakes , fieldwork , Sante adarious , humble sea off top. Not a fan of Alvarado st lately , way too inconsistent. Sac has a great beer scene as well if you make a trip to the 916.
Curious what you mean re: Alvarado. Slice Joint, Root Bound, Rack It, Countach, Wave Jammer and Triple Haole have all been stellar, at least IMHO.
Never had slice joint, root bound rack it. Countache was no good to me, last batch was off to me. I just don't like their yeast profile in most of their beers for the cost not worth my time. I stopped buying their beer in February , I do like every wave jammer batch I've had, and I am interested in this latest cool runoffs (great beer).
Don't forget Contains No Juice, and Local Shred Red is one of the best red ales I've had. Gotta say I'm also liking Champagne Hopi, their take on the brut IPA style. As far as places to go, Altamont Beer Works in Livermore is another solid brewery.
Totally did not mean any disrespect to you. (But I did mean to disrespect that brewery. Such a lovely space wasted on beermakers like that!)
