coming soon: bells barrel aged batch 9000

They are definitely available, just picked up my 3 from the general store. $84.97 OTD, shelf looked full but not sure what was left in the back. Got bottles 324, 355, 360 out of a batch of 1502.

 

My constituents appreciate when I keep the shit show outside of Kalamazoo. I was also busy practicing for All Stouts Day.

 

And he was busy regulating the hoodlums on Halloween dressed as Nate Dogg (RIP). It's not easy being the mayor.

I can't even imagine how good this beer is. Regular Batch 9000 is a top 10 beer for me.

 

I had it this weekend at the brewpub and it was good, but I wouldn't buy a bottle of it.

 

Where in Chicago is it tapping?

 

It's amazing how much better that beer got with age. I just had my last one a couple of weeks ago. I really hope Bavarian Lodge gets this on tap!

Was anyone at Famous Liquors a couple weeks ago when Larry Bell was there? I thought I'd heard that they had some BA 9000 then.

 

Or maybe it's better because it's a fresh batch? My bottle label says it is Batch 11590, not Batch 9000 as you might expect. Or would they simply renumber the batch number because, although it may (or may not) be an original portion of the beer when it was the real batch 9000, it is now Bourbon barrel-aged and bottled?

Edit: A re-read of the post now tells me it is a reference to one of the original bottles of the Batch 9000 when first released. However, my question is still valid about why this new release is Batch 11590.

ISO - I got some bcbs and a new glarus sour brown.

 

I suspect that it may not be possible to land one of these using '12 BCBS with it being a brewery only one off... and BCBS was alllll over the place in Michigan this time around. It's looking like it may even fetch more crazy offers than Black Note did. I am sure we will see Black Note bottles again, we won't see more BA 9000.

 

If only I could get to Kzoo today, I'd definitely get at least one. Alas, I'll just have to remember tasting it at the Cafe last month.

 

Just cross out 9,000 with Sharpie and write in 11,590.
Done.

 

Has anyone noticed if there is still any there today? I would be willing to trade a bottle of Bolt Cutter for some.
