A seasonal is a beer that is released for a season (spring, summer, etc). Nimble Giant is intended to hit the market once and then be gone. Yes it is semantics, but there is a reason they have different terms for these things. It is a limited beer that is not intended to be in the market for a more than a few weeks, which is not a season. That's all.

Anyone have this year's yet? Better than last year's?

I think that's really splitting hairs, considering that is all dependent on how quickly beer sells out.

Troegs lists every beer that's not Year Round or part of their Hop Cycle as "Once a Year". But I would certainly call beers like Nugget Nectar and Mad Elf as seasonal, as they are released the same time of year each year and they appear on shelves and taplists for a few months.

15 cases dropped in the New Hope,PA Giant. Right across from NJ.

My local beer distributor in the Philly NW suburbs also posted pictures of a stack of cases.

I had a couple cans already and it tastes the same this year as it always has for me. Extremely balanced and easy to drink for the high ABV. Just a really nice well rounded DIPA.

I won't pretend that my palate is sophisticated enough to remember nuances from year to the next. My first can from 2018 just disappeared WAY too fast though. I'm looking forward to enjoying one helluva lot of this fresh, local, reasonably priced seasonal DIPA.

Off-topic, Troegs please bring back Flying Mouflan not in bombers. Thank you.

Last year was the only time I'd tried it IIRC.

Bought a (rather expensive) four pack yesterday and would agree with the above assessment.

Ya, little pricey. Was better at $8-9/4 pack.

$13.99 at Wegman's so for me it was a pass, as I have never been in love with this beer.

Yup, I walked by this beer as well.

I suppose Troegs is taking 'inspiration' from the Tired Hands price models?

    Cheers!

I just bought a four pack of Nimble Giant over the weekend. First time trying it. It was okay, probably will not buy again.

Did you think it was going to be cheaper?

Not really, Tired Hands double IPAs range from $18-$22 a 4-pack. Nimble Giant was only $12 at my distributor; Wegman's is always a few dollars higher, in my experience.

And includes two rounds of markup (wholesalers, retailer) that the Tired Hands beers do not. Puts it into perspective how much cash TH is taking in on their direct sales.

Not that you were saying differently, but the same goes for any brewery selling 4-packs out of their doors.
