Founders Bolt Cutter? Thoughts?

WTF, I had to buy tickets and will have to drive to Grand Rapids for 2 bottles to guarantee I get any, and this guy already picked up 3 off the shelf 2 weeks prior to release date.

Wow, Founders & distributors pretty much screwed the pooch on this one.

 

I don't think this is necessarily Founder's fault- I mean I'd be stoked to have Bolt Cutter be released all the way out here in Maine the same time it did in Grand Rapids. I say blame the distributor, and even the bottle shop. I mean any dist rep who knows how to do their job will make it very clear that if a beer isn't supposed to be on the shelf until a certain day, then he/she will drill it into the buyers head or tell them it's not available until the receiving day AFTER the release. Perfect example- Mark (our Central rep) told us we could get Double Bastard and Lucky Bastard in a week before it was supposed to hit shelves, just so we'd be stocked and ready to rock on release day this year. I know it's not Bolt Cutter or friggin KBS or anything, but the principle is still the same. Glad to hear they're sending it about already, considering we didn't get DD until almost a month after it was released.

 

Yep. $25 a bottle. 2 btl limit. It was worth it.

Let me know how it is. It is a Founders special release and I live in the DC area. I am unlikely to get a bottle.

 

I think it was around $15 a bottle when it went into distribution in the Chicago area, but it was $25 at the release.
