The Columbus Brewing release party was a great time. I really enjoyed the 97 Ft. Imperial IPA, outstanding stuff. The Lupulin Cloud was decent but by the time I got to it, I think my palate was murdered. Insane Wanderer is great as well, more carbonation than I've experienced from a CBC IPA and I look forward to killing the six pack.

I hope CBC does this kind of event more often. The staff was great and they put up with me spilling a beer, even giving me a new one (thanks Tony). The fans inside the brewery moved the air around well......the rest of my day was shot though lol. Getting old!

Yeah. Killer tap list and great job by @tcorder219 and the rest. Hopefully we will see a Yakima release party too. By the way. That Steel Dawn...:astonished:

One of the CBC employees stated they'll start breaking ground in Fall and have a taproom opening in early 2019.

I hope so. I bought a house in Franklinton to be close to this taproom.

Great event this last Saturday. I really enjoy the variety in styles and different takes on them. Flip Flop needs to more of a thing.

How was Insane Wanderer compared to Yakima or Creeper? I've been reading good things so far, and my store is getting some in tomorrow

@WesMantooth you're always a good go to for Ohio recommendations. I'm excited to get a bottle of this into my Teku and have a taste.

I wouldn’t compare Wanderer to either of these beers. In my beer nerd opinion, it’s the most crisp tasting IPA I’ve had from CBC and it’s a very easy beer to drink. Some may say a little too easy

Due to the mosaic hops, it is reminiscent of Yakima batches, but I prefer Yakima if compared, which is a wet hop so not really the same. This one is a little drier, and stronger in aroma than flavor. It has been awhile since I have had the IPA, but the malt bill seems similar. If I had to describe it based on comparison I would say sort of a mosaic featured cross between Thunderlips and IPA. It is a very tasty beer, especially if you prefer that style, and I highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed

I got a 6 pack chilling in the fridge right now, I'm looking forward to having one in a few hours.

I finally got 2 bottles in and it was really good stuff. You're right it's definitely drier than Yakima (which is still the king IMO) but I would put it up there with Creeper and Bodhi for sure.

I'm interested to see their single hop series expand

Insane Wanderer is legit. IMO the best "single IPA" that CBC has brewed.

With the CBC discussion in here lately it almost warrants a separate thread much like Jackie Os has. Thoughts?

IMO CBC doesn't do enough "releases" to warrant its own thread. Maybe if we start to see more of these brewery releases...

Cracked another Insane Wanderer (with a few days of age on it) and the flavors are really starting to pop more. I'm probably going to sit on one until the end of the week, but it tastes a lot better today than it did on Thursday.

It's really starting to get up there with Yakima Fresh Hop now

Or maybe if they start to put out a little more beer in general; we still don't get distribution from them anywhere near Cincinnati. I always enjoy the stray kegs we see at events every now and then though.

We're already putting out a good amount of beer. I just saw some data that had us top 5 craft sales$ in the state (and that includes Boston Beer and New Belg). It just so happens it's all being sold in Central and NE Ohio. We're seriously working on plans for the rest of the state. The hope/plan is to open NW Ohio in the coming months, and SW Ohio in Spring '19.

Appears Yellow Springs is pulling out of Columbus after this week...

Not surprised. Aside from Boat Show I hear absolutely nothing about their beers.
