Some new stuff popping up around Boston this past week. Central Waters Cassian Sunset, some Pipeworks bombers (Jones Dog Sundae, Spotted Puffer, Wongo Mongo), Cigar City Maduro, Clown Shoes Gargoyle Love Song 2018 (this year's is bourbon barrel-aged with vanilla beans).

Grabbed a 4pk of Half Acre Galactic Double Daisy Cutter.

    Supposedly a Galaxy DIPA.

Like the other couple of their beers I've had, it's decidedly meh. Would never guess galaxy was involved.

Grabbed some TG Golden Nugget. Not the early April 4pks front and center, rather the 5/30 ones in back. I'll keep buying them but it seems they're hanging around now. Soon to migrate out of coolers and onto shelves?

This beer blew my mind the first time I had it. I haven't had it in years, where did you see it?

A year or so ago this was an occasionally release with a 4 pack limit at most places. A couple days ago I saw it on the shelves at Whole Foods, which was awesome.

I grabbed mine at CBC Newton, but I know it also dropped at CBC Fenway, Fort Point Market, and CBC Fort Point.

I also grabbed my Clown Shoes Gargoyle Love Song at CBC Newton. Think it was $9.75 for the 22. Nice.

I'm guessing that having just a few drops doesn't pay whatever distribution costs are required to get into MA/NH/ME. I don't actually know what those are, but I would guess there is some friction in getting the beer here.

I know in my household, the ability to get so much beer from TH/Trill has limited how much other stuff I buy on the IPA side. I like PS and would certainly buy it, but I don't have the room for it.

Going to MA on thursday for a long weekend from Florida. Staying primarily in Falmouth but swinging by Treehouse and Trillium. What other beers should I be looking to bring back (primarily from bottle shops/package stores as I probably wont be able to hit other breweries besides those two)?

We're the nation's dumping ground for expensive fancy beer, so take your pick. Just remember to check those dates.

The stuff from Maine Beer Co gets sold pretty quickly right? I don't think they have dates on the bottles but they're one of my favorites so I was planning on picking some up

Anything in particular you're looking for? Just IPAs?

Nothing in particular, I normally drink IPA's, stouts, and wheat beers, but I'm open to anything.

Depends on the store, but it can sit for a while.

Vanished Valley has been one of my favorite IPAs you can get in stores, but availability is sporadic. Same deal with Springdale. Second Fiddle from Fiddlehead is another one to look for.

If you’re looking for big names that may or may not have lost their former glory, you will likely be able to find Sip of Sunshine and Foundation Epiphany as they have been on shelves quite a bit.

Other local breweries that distribute that you might want to check out are Lamplighter, Idle Hands, Mystic, Night Shift, Aeronaut, Castle Island, among others.

Thanks! I didn't know they distributed second fiddle in MA, i've been trying to get my hands of some of that since I love the IPA they do. I'll probably snag some SoS too since i've enjoyed that in the past. I'll be on the lookout for all of the rest too. Cheers

There are dates on the bottles for MBC brews. Lunch and a few others move fairly quickly usually, some others may sit so check the side of the bottle for a date.

Since its summer, Kappys in Falmouth should be fairly stocked with fresh stuff.

Also, just last weekend I hit up Barnstable Brewing in Hyannis and Naukabaut in Mashpee and I thought both were worth the trip, and really close to falmouth, especially Nauk

Thanks, Naukabout is definitely on the list. I've heard of Barnstable before but never went because the hours were a little funky. Good to here that Kappy's is better stocked, I was there during the winter and the selection wasn't that great.

Grabbed my first Backlash Beer today at CBC Belmont and the clerk tells me it's a new offering: All In DIPA. I don't see it here in the database so it would appear he's right. 8.3% and canned a month ago, but unfortunately nothing else on the label.

Great stuff if you like your NE IPA to come with some decent bitterness. I'm getting increasingly picky about spending $15 on for a four pack these days, and this definitely make the cut.

Another one to come out of Dorchester Brewing Company, I think (Backlash has definitely brewed a few beers there at this point).

You're probably right about where they started. The clerk told me these actually came out of their new brewery in Roxbury though. He said the taproom isn't yet open to the public but they are brewing there now.
