    • Doomtree - Too Many Cooks
    • Not Your Mommy's Umami - Those mushrooms had no shelf life
    • Xtra-Citra - Tasted like the hops were just rinsed in while making it
    • Damien - Reusing spent Darkness grains sounds good in theory...
    • Anything that has touched those Fernet barrels - You've apparently never had the pleasure of tasting Fernet
Oh, and norovirus, microplastics, and Legionnaires' disease while we're at it. :sunglasses:

As someone who often criticizes Surly, I will say I didn’t hate doomtree. The early tap batch of Xtra was good (not so much now that it’s canned). Aaaand I like Damien. Oy vey. They could have dumped most of the smoky/spicy things for my taste.

There is a difference between an experiment one just doesn't like (e.g. the way @SudsSavant describes Damien), a standard lineup beer one dislikes (I can't stand Xtra-Citra, either, and its rating is a complete mystery to me... it is the proverbial hop water), and a drain pour (spoiled, does not meet the brewer's standards, etc., e.g. Twelve).

Don't forget Inherent Weiss. Who thought it was a good idea to dump all those hops in a hefeweizen?

Hopefully some of those Darkness variants are barrel aged and make it to distribution. Methinks that last year when they found a bunch of Darkness and BA Darkness in late summer and dumped it into distribution, they killed sales of the 2017 release. The 2017 Darkness and BA Darkness are still on shelves here, and may still be when 2018 drops.

There are very few beers I find completely undrinkable, but would put Damien up there. For me it tastes exactly what it sounds like reused garbage.
