    The dogs have been out, and fed. Much cooler (upper 40s) this morning...something to take off the chill:

    Today is Midsummers’ Eve in Sweden, one of our most important holidays. I intend to spend it drinking beer, watching movies and listening to music. Right now, this beer and A Fish Called Wanda, one of my favorite movies of all time.

    Bit bummed the weather forecast is calling for 80% chance of rain - today - tonight and tomorrow - Saturday is the Annual Antique Boat Show I do every June - it goes on rain or shine, but not much fun sitting with your boat in the rain for 6 hours - decided to only take my 1913 canoe, and not the Weekender sailboat I have been restoring....ah well

    In the meantime....there is beer!

    Celebrating some great news at work today, so I figured I would crack something special. Darkstar November by Bottle Logic, and a gorgeous afternoon. Insane as always. Can't think of many BA stouts that I like more. Cheers fellow beer lovers!

    Early one after the BRA-CRC soccer game. Most of it a snoozer. Felt bad for Costa Rica, and Brazil is certainly no longer the dominant force it was in the 90s, but hey... ready for the next one.

    I don’t have any Swedish beer on hand but I do have some Swedish snaps that I thought would pair perfectly with this Grisette (needless to say, I say I was right.). And by the way this beer is absolutely fantastic.

    This is good, no, let me rephrase that, this is quite good for what it is. It isn't a German Bock, it's a variation of AAL, and has met with wide acceptance because people like the flavor. Attractive brownish redish color, malt/hops appear in enough volume to be heard, texture is thinner than Euro styles but still medium, taste leaves a sense of sweetness without actually being sweet.
