They only do Crowlers. IPAs are available all the time. JOOSE are just Tues, Thurs & Sun unless An is feeling nice. Since the above is a special collab for the Hop Culture Fest on Sun I'm guessing they made quite a bit and it will last most of the weekend. They do a great job updating their taplist on Untappd (also available on their website) ast close each night or a couple hours before opening each day.

Ah okay, thanks. I thought those crowler cans were regular cans because they had different stickers.

I traded recently and got one of the Joose crowlers. I know crowlers should be consumed fresh, but any idea how long the Joose's stay fresh in the can? I realized after the fact I traded for one a few weeks old, so want to know if I have any wiggle room to hold for my next share in two more weeks, or should just have it this week.

Ive not heard of anyone having a JOOSE go bad on them taste wise. It's usually the instability of the can exploding. Keep it cold, give it a squeeze every day or so to make sure it's not getting too firm and you should be fine.

Anyone have a complete list of the arcade/Nintendo glassware that The Answer has released to date?

My buddy was in Richmond the past week and brought home some crowlers, offered me my choice of one

He got Kromer Juice Strawberry, Stonefruit Popsicle, Double Lychee Creamsicle, and Cody Austin

I was gonna grab the Cody Austin but as thick as that is it’s definitely not something I want to take a whole crowler down in one sitting

Anyone ever transfer half of a crowler into a growler or bottle and recap it? Shouldn’t have to worry these Answer quasi beers losing carbonation, right?

Cody Austin is great, cant speak of the others as I dont think I have had them but the majority of them are thick. Carbonation is pretty low already so I wouldnt trasnfer to another vessel. Its not too hard to drink one over an hour or two, just put the crowler back in the fridge between pours.

I've never really understood or gotten into the glassware collecting but seeing all these awesome 8bit glasses An has been dreaming up is really getting me that itch to start. Definitely does bring back that nostalgic feeling for sure. Now if they would just do a game night / tournament on glass release days with the game of what the glass is. That would be cool. Winner goes home with a free glass and Crowler.I will say An as well as a the admins and other people in the Questions and The Answer fb group are some of the most generous and nicest people in any group I'm part of. Such a great example for the craft beer community to follow.

I don't think The Veil has nearly the hype glasses other than they really are the only RVA brewery doing various new styles / designs / colors of glasses with some regularity. When the challenge to get the Horns glasses through the tokens started that created a lot of buzz but it has died off. The tribute glasses they do to line up with those releases are nice but I think the majority of us beer nerds see the Teku these days as the craft version of the shaker pint. 3-4 years ago I loved it but now I cringe whenever I see a brewery selling them. They are behind the times....And the Tastee (paint jar / yankee candle) style glasses were a big whiff imo.

I don’t buy in to the whole limited release glassware thing

I only drink one beer at a time and I think I have a well versed selection off glassware to be able to suit any beer I’m going to pour

The glass I end up using the most is a Samuel Smith tulip pint glass...works well with my styles

I tend to collect a glass from breweries I have visited and enjoyed. I don't need every limited glass from these breweries, just a nice souvenir to remember the brewery and use for home consumption. Some of the breweries, like The Answer, make it hard to limit to just one glass. The 8 bit glassware is kind of addictive. Each glass reminds me of all the time spent playing those games and they typically change the glass style too which makes each a unique addition. I just returned from visiting the Answer 2 weeks ago. I passed on the in store glasses and ended up searching and eventually obtaining the Contra 8bit glass. Thing is awesome!

hey guys visiting in a couple weeks just wanted to make sure i had a grasp on the answer. Going on a weds night for pours and thursday for joose crowlers.

Flights right? flat price or varies by beer chosen? honestly probly doing all the stouts i can handle

Joose 2pp on thurs usually every week? If release is at 12 what would be a good time to get there? was thinking 1030-11 but not sure if dudes get there at like 8am hoping for glassware?

also do people actually stand in line or is there a chair/cooler protocol that everyone goes by?

cheaper to bring my own 32oz growlers to fill or crowlers still the way to go if i liked an IPA or something?

thanks in advance, and if there’s anything else lemme know. looking forward to RVA

I believe a flight of 4 (anything you choose) is a flat rate of $12. Outside of that you can do small pours as well. Small pours (6oz) of their house beers typically run $3.50-$5.00. Andalls and Joose small pours are all $4.50 (5oz) or $7.00 (10oz)

Joose does not sell out. if they happen to run out of something then it is just replaced with something else. Limits are 2 Crowlers per person per Joose not just 2 total and cost $20+tax. I doubt you need to show up before opening. In there slight case the do have a glass or bottle release then people usually line up outside the door a couple hours before opening. This is just for the glass / bottle only. They usually have more than enough glasses when those are release that one could get one showing up after opening. One can still walk right inside to order pours or Crowlers. You can't bring those pours out into the parking lot however. If you are concerned about a possible line then I would suggest going to Mekong (front of building) to have some pours from there before The Answer opens. Mekong opens at 11am and has a complete separate beer list as well as has different Andalls.

also do people actually stand in line or is there a chair/cooler protocol that everyone goes by?
Someone else will have to answer this one.

I've honestly never seen anyone walk out with a growler of any of the house beers since they have been doing Crowlers. I would assume prices would be similar. House Crowlers typically run $9-$15 or so. If you want 64oz then you would need to bring your own. The only growlers they will fill are the swing top style that has the ceramic top.

thanks in advance, and if there’s anything else lemme know. looking forward to RVA

If they just so happen to release a glass the day you visit, there will be some kind of line depending on the quantity. I've never stood in it, (bc its usually unnecessary) but I've walked past it and I don't think anyone drops chairs and leaves - they are present.
Otherwise on a random Thursday there is zero reason I can think of to get to the Answer before they open. Don't think of Joose days as a release per se, it's just one of the several days a week they will crowler something they serve daily on draft.
