all in all, glad to hear that people had a great time. Hopefully this becomes a more frequent event.

How’s cloudwater event (in terms of beer quality and rammed-ness)?

Yeah man, to each their own. I just feel like the bangers are few and far between where as OH is just turning them out on the regular.

It was a very good time yesterday. I am definitely doing the VIP next year if they do the festival again. I was really concerned that I was going to get about 10 pours the whole day but is was setup so well.

We were actually able to get out of line and run to a booth that had no line and get a beer than get back in the original line.

The lines were long but nothing more than 5-10 minutes. Some breweries had a huge line then 20 minutes later you could walk right up.

There were so many beers that I never got around to unfortunately. Have to make a plan of attack next year.

You didn't miss much on that one. Half the people I talked to (including myself.. i talk to myself a lot) said it was good/average and the other half hated it. Unfold the scroll was the only good beer at Monkish, everything else was too hot.

I'd rate the event as a solid A. Pricey fest, but the overall beer quality made it worth it (a lot of breweries traveled quite a ways for the event).
    - VIP was worth the price (it took about 10 minutes to get in after open and we arrived at 10:30). The extra 50 mins meant we got to pop through the monkish line twice, great notion twice, and J Wakefield twice.
    - Even the longest lines weren't too bad (basically, take the EBF lines and divide by three).
    - Bathroom situation was so-so. VIP bathrooms had longer lines than the regular bathrooms, but there were also porta potties behind the wrestling area, which were clutch.
    - Wrestling was a silly but fun touch, and it worked well in the atrium area. Staff was helpful and in a good mood.
    - There were a couple points at which someone yelled WAY TOO LOUDLY over the PA system.
    - Kinda silly that the VIP teku was basically a crappy version of the event Teku, but if you care that much about glassware, you're already caring too much.
    - The gold foil VIP tasters were nice. Map, etc, was good.
    - Stairs at a beer fest = recipe for a disaster.

Highlight beers: J wake big poppa, Haterade, Great notion Passionfruit Mochi, Snowbirds 2, Blueberry Muffin, RIP Me, Space hallucinations.

Damn for real? I was on vacation so couldn’t go. But if I had, and I’d sprung for VIP, about 120 of that extra 200 would have been for guaranteed easy pissing

Event was very well run. Couldn't believe how long the beer lasted...monkish, trillium, wakefield had the longest lines and their beer lasted all festival. As non-vip, I was worried that stuff would be kicked...but that wasn't the case at all

By far the worst thing a drank yesterday was the Cosco Kirkland brand water. It tasted like the bottled it right out of the Hudson River.

Fest was great, like they said above, there was great beer available the whole time, and everyone I met was cool for the most part. My best of day were great notion, veil, and j wake’s sours.

Best beer at the festival IMO was Great Notion Blueberry Muffin. Worst beer was that 15% j wakefield stout...it was diabetes in a glass.

Most of the IPAs I had were fantastic but about an hour in my taste buds were pretty shot and they all started to blend together.

The Bellwoods Raspberry Milkshark was pretty stellar too.

Lastly, I agree with the poster above about stairs being a recipe for disaster at a beer festival. I didn’t see anybody fall down them but I did see 3 people fall up the steps.

+1 to the blueberry muffin. It blew my mind. Raspberry Milkshark was good, as was Burial's Pistachio Milkshake. I think I tried all the milkshake style beers there and found Tired Hands to have the worst. Haterade by Wakefield was so good.

I definitely don't recall too many non ipas either.

The VIP bathroom situation was a little annoying. At one point I was getting (deservedly) rassed by the plebes in the regular line. It moved faster!

Also what was up with Veil running out of beer so quickly?

The Veil also ran out of beer super quick back at CBC Boston, like 30 minutes in to the fest. Guess they still havent learned anything...

Not sure if anyone did this too but next time you have the chance at a festival like this with great notion have them mix the double stack and blueberry muffin together for you. You're welcome.

I too thought TH extra vanilla milkshake was not impressive at all. Had a weird flavor on the backend.

Also the Veil running out of beer that quick kind of pissed me off. By the time I got in (1230) they were already out. Wtf was that?

Yeah was kinda underwhelmed by it at As Is. Tasted a bit like apple, but didn't get any vanilla, and wasn't too thick.
