I saw that person's leaky cap tweet and TG's response tweet earlier today - what am I seeing in that picture? I can't tell what it is that's leaking out of that wax.

 

Not sure which picture you are talking about. One of the pictures is great, the other kind of sucks.

In the good one, it's a brown-hughed bubble coming out of what looks like a pinhole in the wax. Assuming I can see the picture correctly.

 

But I thought there were only 400 bottles? What are they exchanging it with?

you could also try shaking it a bit and moving it around if you dont want to break the wax yet. Your guess is as good as mine. This sucks, had a trade lined up to get one and now I am not so sure.

If you actually are going to test it, you should put a pinhole into the wax just like in the picture.

That said, if it's any consolation, I have seen variant bottles at Dark Lord Day have broken wax and carbonation fizzling out from the break, and they exchanged them on the spot. The variants in question never turned out to have had widespread issues, they were just one off scenarios.

 

I did just that, each of the bottles I have has an air pocket under the wax on one side of the bottle just below the edge of the metal cap. I took one and stuck a pin in the air pocket and nothing came out and I didn't hear any air rush out. Cracking it open tomorrow so I'll get a better look.

 

especially when these bottles were extremely overpriced to begin with.

 

Now that's a new approach! Kudos!

I currently have 10+ older TG waxed bottles and several have the bubble. Doesnt mean anything. Wouldn't go through the trouble of stripping any wax.
