It's that rich melange of pulpy thickish old hippie drink stuff from smoothies and now in beer. It is a slippery and gooey slope of adult beer cooler like beers.that confound purists and mesmerize initiates. Nothing really new at all. I do know what passion fruit is and it's not one of my favorites. Someone needs to make a really good real tomato beer!

To me it seems rather more likely that the first brewers intended their creations to get them drunk.

My only concession (if you even wanna call it that), is that I'll eat whatever food item, not take a sip of my beer throughout the entire time eating, then go back to my beer.

My dogs and my cat are very well behaved, well, the cat's a bit opinionated but she has good manners.

I'm sure it did. I just cringe when beer enthusiasts get all sanctimonious and protective. It's embarrassing, and a bit pathetic. If beer is that much a part of your identity then...

If they allow kids in breweries, I should be able to bring beer to parent teacher conferences....

Although a good idea, I don't think that's how it works.

not sure there's any specific rule against it. And there is always the old reusable to-go coffee cup

Unsure if you meant to quote the other guy.... I don't loathe hobbyists.

I loathe parent's precious little *********s running full-bore into my lower legs at breweries and then the parents telling ME I should watch where I'm going

I "love" when I watch the parent(s) drinking, and wonder who is the driver for them, and find out it's them. Some parents. First they choose an activity for themselves instead of for the child(ren), and then drive 'em home buzzed. I don't like your kids near me in a tap room and I hope you will be as understanding when I use every swear word I can think of, loudly, when they're near me as you expect me to be for your choice to drag young kids to adult activities

We don't agree on much, but these are things I think we can:

    1) Bars are not kid-friendly. That's why there is a drinking age.

    2) There are these things called babysitters. The other patrons at the bar are not them.

    3) If your child (or pet) is an asshole, it doesn't belong in a bar with you.

    4) If you don't care enough about your kid to stay sober when you have to drive them someplace, you shouldn't have had kids in the first place.

Can I tell two stories about standing in line at Tree House? I've told the first one here before.

A couple of summers ago I was at Monson, standing in line before opening. There was a small child, maybe five or six years old, lying on his belly in the middle of the gravel parking lot, building a fort out of crushed cigarette butts. Periodically a car would have to maneuver around him. By the time I left, after maybe an hour, an hour and a half, I still hadn't figured out who his parents were.

A few weeks ago I was coming home from Boston and figured I'd stop at Tree House since it was more or less on the way. Turned out it was the day they released Juice Machine and the crazies had come out of the woodwork to stand in line for two hours in the rain for two cans of beer. This one kid is running back and forth, up and down the line, and her mother is yelling at her that she doesn't understand why she can't just behave herself. After standing in line for an hour and a half in the rain. She doesn't understand why the little girl isn't behaving.

So, anyway, I don't know if that says more about people who take their kids to breweries or about me for spending so much time at breweries myself.

Conclusion: I don't even know why this is controversial, but don't take your kids to breweries. Brewpubs, where they can at least get some french fries, sure, but, for fuck's sake, why is this even being argued about?
