First time to Equilibrium, totally different than what this flatlander pictured. With all the talk of line shares, brisket and upstate location I pictured an oasis in the woods. Shocked that it was basically a parking lot. How in the world does that place get away with people lining up and drinking in the parking lot.

 

My impression as well. Doesn't the Police dept. share the same lot? IIR, there were cops crawling everywhere.

 

the police dept lot is across the street, not the same lot.

I imagine Equilibrium being a huuugee boost to Middletown's economy probably results in more leniency for certain things, as is understandable. it would probably just take a single idiot to piss the police off over the proximity, but from what i understand the line is congenial and not rowdy.

they're moving away from that location anyway in the coming year, a few blocks down to a larger lot that's more their own space, as opposed to how it is now.

 

BTW, this Dhop 6 is pretty awesome.

I'm always bummed for EQ collaboration releases cuz you have no shot unless you get there at 9am (which I can't do). Any other of their amazing beers and you can just stroll in at 2pm and grab a full allotment with no line.

Such a huge difference that some lactose and involvement of OH can do for hype I guess

I heard people without tickets (ie. got there after open which is 11:30am) were able to get cans.

 

Can Release this Saturday

 

If you're relatively local you can just wait until the following Thursday and pick up a (usually) smaller allotment of whatever had been released the previous week. As a non brisket eater I do this every time I pick up Equilibrium. This week is a perfect example. You'd be limited to a single 4-pack of the Other Half collaboration, but the convenience of showing up after work on a Thursday and waiting in a line of 3 or 4 other people makes this the move for those buying for their own personal consumption.

I'm usually not a knee-jerk fanboy of Equilibrium IPAs but the OH collaboration is a nice beer, plus it was available in 4-packs and not crowlered.

 

Do most of their releases make it through Saturday? Coming down from Boston and don’t actively follow their releases.

 

Given what they're releasing today it would be a shock if you even have to wait on a line by early this afternoon.
