There were no stouts available on the bottle list as of Saturday.

Definitely understand it's not on bottle list. Just wondering if any locals have any around and would be willing to share if I bring something from my stash. Also interested in OWK. I know it's a long shot, but I'm taking the trip and need to ask...

I'm visiting some foreign friends soon, and they seem to prefer the light flavors of saisons/grisettes. Is Side Project releasing any of these soon? I'd love to bring them a KC and St. Louis beer in the style!

Grisette blend #5 has been available to go for at least a month now. BdP is always solid and that’s available to go as well as Marietta Ave b3.

Saw what appeared to be a stout taste testing going on in their Instagram story yesterday.

We are well past time to have another Vibes beer come out. I wish SP had a couple stouts available at all times for onsite. Hasn’t been a single one of their own available the last few times I’ve been.

Just my guess, preparation for this:
"Educational Stout Journey at Side Project Brewing!
Join us for a stout-filled afternoon with Side Project and Shared Brewers, Brian Ivers & Tommy Manning. Our Brewers will take you through an educational tasting of local & non-local stouts."

It's a St Louis Craft Beer Week event - Noon-1:30 on August 3rd - it's on FB, not sure if they've tweeted about it as well.

D9 (cinnamon & malple) being bottled today. also had “BBT3” written down...which i suppose they might bottle condition until thanksgiving. i guess it’s BBT3 because the first iteration of BBT was draft-only for the coffee crawl?

I have yet to have a stout that has maple but not coffee. I'm really curious how this would taste. Also, all of the stouts I have had with Cinnamon have been pretty thin - would love to try a thicker one.

[I have not had any of the prop's with Cinnamon. I am allergic to nuts, so since these go together frequently, there's some that I just don't get to try.]

Local KC brewery BKS did their milk stout (Holstein) with maple on one release. I think every subsequent release has featured coffee too though.

I'll try to keep tabs on them closer and see if I can get some Maple Holstein.

    Much appreciated my friend.

I presently have a bottle of Midnight Sun - Bezerker, which has several things in addition to Maple. Have not tried it, though.

I did think it was thin, actually. Maybe not Mexican Cake thin, but still thin. I didn't think it at all had the body of what I normally associate as a thick stout.

    Just, personal opinion of course.

I do recall reading in the MORE thread awhile back a discussion of Abraxas and BA abraxas, and there seeming to be some type of disagreement as to how thick/thin these two beers were. Seemed like quite a divide.

interesting. i love all forms of abraxas so i suppose i am a bit biased. barrel-aging does tend to think stouts our a little but nothing thin about BAA either.

a harder one to get ahold of but chemtrail is cinnamon and not at all thin. (i still give BAA the slight edge over it though.)

I have not had Chemtrail, but did miss the opportunity to try it! Oh, if only I had known then what I know now (life choices, only related as it would have allowed me to join the share where both BAA and Chemtrail were opened).

I think the only other big cinnamon stouts I have had are MC and Willet MC. Both were good, but the cinnamon was way more prevalent in the Willet MC. Extremely enjoyable (to me).

Look forward to having more opportunities to try cinnamon in stouts (especially BA stouts). Maybe GI will finally bring out a prop with cinnamon that I can try. (wasn't around when prop 13/14 were easier to trade for, and no trade fodder. Also, don't live in Chicago or near enough to have visited at the right time to try either. Blast!)

My experiences with Abraxas seemed to translate as thin too, although not terribly so.

Oddly enough, I found BA Sump to have a much thicker feel than regular Sump. Haven't had BAA yet, but am hoping for a similarly unexpected result when I do.

man, never in my life have i found a perennial stout (BA or non-BA to be thin). another good cinnamon stout that was not at all thin was Pulpit Rock Rechoncho.

Just flew into town this morning and see that I missed Raspe. If anyone local has one for trade or for sale, please let me know. Would love to bring one or two back to DC....I'll be at the Cellar today and tomorrow.
