It can get busy at times but I've never had to wait there. It has always been a breeze; I was just there Saturday afternoon and it was steady busy but no waits at all and plenty of room to chill. According to the handy Google Maps "Popular Times" tool, it shouldn't be busy at all on Wednesdays.

They have cans regularly, unless otherwise stated on their instagram, which you should check out from time to time for new release info. Last I was there they still had Powder Daze, Freshies and Fuego. As much as I adore Fuego, I am absolutely loving Freshies right now. Tonewood has really stepped up their game.

they were out of Fuego on Thursday, but Roger Wilco had a ton of it if that's still the case. Along with Kane

I believe it was back in stock when I was there on Saturday but I didn't get any (I bought cans at RW on Friday....somehow it was canned that very same day, 4/20!)

    EDIT: from Friday

    Details

Here is what we know so far...
We will have some new lager mugs.
A special Lager Beer bar to go along with said new awesome mugs.
A bunch of hoppy hazy juicy IPAs that everyone loves (and yeah, we saved a keg of THE BIG DIRTY).
Complimentary munchies! We couldn't have made it another year without all you fine people, so as a small token of thanks, were gonna have some food for ya.
We're setting up an outside bar too so we can all enjoy the nice weather together!

Of course plenty of beer, plenty of good friends, and music.
    Hope to see you there!
    Much love friends

Ludlam Island will be at the 1st Annual Summer Swelter festival in Pitman, NJ on August 18th. It looks like a pretty good lineup: Dark City, Brotherton, Czig Meister, Double Nickel, Eight & Sand, Hidden Sands, Zed's, etc. Most importantly, I don't think it'll be that busy because it'll be the first year and it's off the beaten track. No Tonewood listed yet though.

$15/4 and $10 a teku wow. Masthead in Cleveland is charging $21 for their latest DDH, people justify the cost due to hop prices and proximity. Tonewood debunks that. Cost of living way higher in Jersey.

Would love to get my hands on this. Few NE IPA from Tonewood have been really good.

After a quick google search I came across this. It's nice to know people are interested in what I'm doing!

The thread is not totally wrong in it's assumptions. I stopped working at Tired Hands in January and began consulting primarily for Start Up Breweries. During the time this thread was actively being discussed Hidden Sands was one of my clients. I was acting a place holder for them until they could find a full time brewer assisting with early decisions as they related to brewery operations. After finding Luke Lindsey (current Head Brewer at Hidden Sands) I became unaffiliated with the project prior to their operations beginning.

Currently I am actively working with a number of clients in the Mid-Atlantic region. The one I am most active with is New Trail Brewing Co in Williamsport PA. Where I am currently acting as the Director of Brewing Operations. We'd love to have you guys come visit!

    Thanks for thinking about me!

Excellent news Mike, and Looks like a thread is already in the works: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/new-trail-brewery.568038/

Thus, will be sure to swing by for some friendly chatter and pints; any plans to dive into this crazy market on your own?

Has anyone been to 13th Child or Cross Keys yet? What are your thoughts?

I would rate them both as a solid "Meh."

    Interesting notes from my visits:

    - 13th Child's set up two mini bars with different taps on each side. Thought that it was odd and definitely can't be productive during busy times.

    - Cross Keys' flight boards look like a giant hop penis.

Nothing really sold me on returning.

I ended up going to both yesterday afternoon. I can confirm that both were very average. I tried the entire lineup at 13th Child and the only beer that stood out to me was the Raspberry Saison. I tried most of the beers at Cross Keys and nothing stood out there. The Porter was probably the best thing I had but was thin and not above average. The Hop Joose was pretty bad.

    Both places were very dead.

I'm assuming from the Untappd reviews that Bradley Brew Project is another one in the area to just skip? 3.2 for the pale ale after 100 reviews, and 3.5 for the IPA. yikes. and openings usually yield more generous reviews. do some of these places just rush to open, or do they just have such a good location that they know making quality beer isn't necessary for profit?

Maybe someday. Currently enjoying my involvement in a few projects. I may make one of them home for a little while.

This Saturday the 18th is the Summer Swelter Brewfest in Pitman. NJ which features lots of NJ breweries that are fairly unknown - including both Cross Keys and 13th Child. Kelly Greeen and Human Village are hosting along with the town of Pitman. I'm not expecting much but there are plenty of breweries that I haven't tried before who are going to be there so I thought I'd give it a shot.

To my SJ and SEPA friends... Some of these reviews may be a little bit stale. Maybe a place has been able to dial it in after a little bit. Curious if you've been able to revisit a place that has improved.

Of all the places i've visted in South Jersey recently, King's Road in Haddonfield is the one that has grown on me the most.

I also liked King's Road on my first and only visit, 2 out of the 3 beers I tried were very good and the other was still better than good. I'll have to find time to get back there.

Another brewery that I think has been improving, and who's certainly expanding their line-up is Tuckahoe. I hadn't thought about them in years because before it used to be just good/average red ales, porters, and what not but now they're doing some more interesting things - The Long Hug brewed with a French saison yeast that includes some Brettanomyces in it is excellent.

Double Nickel has been doing the same with some of their newest releases. I totally appreciate their commitment to a core line-up, and I love their Pilsner when it's "on", but their newer, more experimental stuff is much more interesting.
