Sunday in the sun means some reliable drinkability, today in the form of Adams ghost ship.

Swift pint after shops in Timperley.
Stonemason's where Frank Sidebottom often fired up his keyboards,
Now made free of the Broomwood crowd thank's to GK gentrification.
Now 33% kids called Balthazah & Herzog de Karine.
Had a pint of Manchester Magic Mild as being brewed by Brightside
I know its going to be not pretend micro.
Smoky molasses aroma treacle & gunpowder flavour good body but still easy drinking, ever so slightly sickly though

I'm finishing up Sunday with a bottle of Thornbridge's Wye, a cucumber pale ale. It's cucumbery. I don't like cucumber. But I have to admit that this is quite well done for what it is....

I'm not a fan of cucumber but found it tangy and refreshing and tart

Well Zimbo has done it again, for no other reason but the goodness of his heart
he's sent a box with a Tempest Brandy Barrel aged Mexicake,
    Bear Republic Cafe Racer DIPA
& two Struise Quad's, Blue Monk & Pannepot Reserva.
This time he's made sure I'm drinking them right by including corresponding glasses
that include gold rimmed Westvleteren XII chalices.

He sent me a couple of dipas once out of the blue when I was unemployed and a bit down in the dumps and it really made my week. He's a great guy.

    About seven year ago
I set myself the challenge of gaining the experience of enough beer drinking to consider myself a connoisseur.
    My targets~ five hundred brewers,
    a hundred styles,
    from fifty countries all done.
The last, two thousand five hundred different beers, I'm off by 123.
    Its been an interesting journey.
Met a lot of great people, fantastic brewers, drank awesome beers, suffered terrible pissy brews & learned a lot.
Now it feels like that bit in The Hobbit, where they finally work out how to open the back door of the Dwarven home.

This is just the ideal hangover.‬
‪Enough to register slight overindulgence the night before but not inhibit your functions.‬
‪A feeling like your head has been lightly brushed against a cactus & some minor flatulence.‬
‪Holy shit balls I’ve gone beyond reviewing beer & now critiquing hangovers!‬

    A few good beer days,
Wednesday - Tiny Rebel Lemondrop, Vic Secret and Amarillo IPL, Odyssey Passion fruit shake ipa, Oakham Mandarina Bavaria
Thursday - Thornbridge Kipling, Marble Pint, Big Smoke Solaris, Roosters Distant Sun
Tonight - a few pints of Thornbridge Lord Marples bitter

Really enjoyed the Thornbridge beers, always liked Kipling better than Jaipur. Marble Pint was another winner, so much so that I got a 2 pint take home for the weekend

Bristol is really opening up for the summer. Arbor, Dawkins, Moor, LHG, Wiper and True, Fierce and Noble, Good Chemistry, Croft Ales all have taps open at the weekend. Visited LHG and Arbor this Friday :

LHG Goldline, Reubens loves Raspberries, Universal Icons
    Arbor Yakima Valley, Motueka IPA

Picked up some cans of LHG/ Deya/ Magic Rock Compulsory Fun, my favourite pale ale from them so far. A smidgen of coriander in the recipe to give a light peppery feel. Also at Arbor their fab Breakfast stout which they have barelled into rum, tennessee and bourbon whiskey.

With Lost and Grounded running fab monthly brewer sessions, Cloudwater and Jopen in May, Northern Monk and Wylam this month, happy days here in the West Country :sunglasses:

Met up with with a friend near his workplace for a pint,
Home, Manchester, the kind of place I'd normally avoid
Edison bulbs & man buns, they did play Faith No More but also Will Smith.
Magpie's Hoppily ever after, a blonde that was light, refreshing but mainly meh.
Navigation's New Dawn, a pale that behind the saison type sour that must have come from bad cellar work seemed okay.

Talked my friend into going elsewhere
Peveril of the Peak, Clad in old Wilson brewery tiles & looking like a pub not an Ikea store
we had Brightside's Mancunian a Golden that was how I hoped my first pint would be .
Millstone Tiger Rut, more Golden ale but not everyone hides from the sun lol.

Then last night had the final English Aldi beer bottle with the Hambleton Session,
presuming that the marketing this with the world cup means that they've requested beers without challenging flavours I'd imagine even the Darkstar Hophead has been nobbled.
Littlebro a nordic session IPA from the coop &
a Beavis & Butthead themed Double RyePA from Tiny Rebel
the great cornolio & great it was.

On holiday in Scotland, beer situation fairly good. Popped into Aldi, what a great selection of cans and bottles, also mini kegs of Tempest Helles.
Pub wise tonight I had a pint of Tennant's just to see what it was like - average lager. Then popped into another pub and found Fyne Jarl, Fyne Highlander and Orkney Dark Island on cask. Excellent stuff.

An actual proper weekend with no work days but it’s the week before pay.
    I have some beer in,
but it’s Greene King faux craft.
I had planned to go to a bring your own booze goth night
but I’m that cash strapped it’s going to be a night of naff beer & cleaning the kitchen whilst watching Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.

Another great weekend session recently at Lost and Grounded, Bristol with Wylam and Northern Monk in attendance :

Wylam Nothing Left to Lose, Open to Persuasion, Where's Yer Sparkler
    Northern Monk Heathen
Lost and Grounded/Jopen/Cloudwater Summer Session No.1

Loved the Wylam beers, particularly Nothing Left to Lose, a real juice bomb.

Verdant were in town 2 days before at Small Bar. Really nice low ABV beer Truckee (collab with Track) and a bitter fronted beer Armbands (collab with IMBC) and the usual great juice bombs as well.

More great events on the horizon :stuck_out_tongue: :sunglasses:

Having essentially mispent my you as essentially a goth I'm struggling to cope with the heat
I found Petrus Nitro Quad the perfect big strength dark ale for a scorchingly hot day,

Yesterday I had the perfect alestorm, being friday & payday & no work for six days
I picked up Vibrant Forest Chixxulub, The White Hag Puca, Weied Beard Dirrty Haands
& Three weav3rs Expatriate heading out of work.
I then grabbed an ice cold Burning Soul Ice Cream pale ale to cool me before my tram journey.
The combination of me being so hot & the beer being so cold tore into my guts.

I then went to get a takeaway so I didn't have to cook in a hot kitchen, grabbing Budvar B Strong from the Co-Op, Hyde & Wilde US IPA from Sainsbury's then onto Bargain booze where I got Tiny Rebel Fambuzi, see bier and Fierce Easy Shift.

By the time I'd finished eating the heat did me in again & I just wanted to pass out on my bed,

Giving beer drinking another attempt today,
    tomorrow Dunham Massey brewery tap.

Had a few nice ones recently. Burnt Mill Green Path IPA. Seen their cans about, this was excellent on tap, juicy and danky. Looking forward to trying them at LHG in July and the Bristol Craft Festival in Sept.

Lost and Grounded have opened their tap house on certain Fridays. Berry Lush, Bristol collab for Manchester Beer Week, Summer Sessions No.1, Atlas won't put me down collab with Lervig, Keller Pils. Love the Pils in this hot weather. Shocked at the low rating on that other site for this :astonished:

After St Pauls carnival headed to Wiper and True for their fabulous tank beer, Phantasmagoria, tasting as good as it was last year :sunglasses:.

Just been in the lake District for a long weekend, didn't manage to visit any breweries so stopped by booths to pick up 15 or so beers that I haven't had before.

Currently drinking a fyne ales first day IPA. That Aldi were selling in their Scottish beer fest. Really rather good.
